Richard Rodgers is back....

Assuming Ertz will be out soon, with the signing of Rodgers, the #1 and #2 TE are set now.  They would need a #3 from the new players.  Wonder if they will try JJAW at TE.  He has the size and can catch some (not good enough as WR though).  Surely the pick capital invested in him is a waste.  If he can contribute as a TE, it is a small return of investment.

Honestly, JJAW can't be worse than Tebow who has not played for years and is now switching to be a TE.

JJAW is not a TE. He does not have TE size. He's actually a pretty good, high-effort blocker as a WR, but he wouldn't hold up having to block an edge rusher. It would be ugly. This is JJAW's 3rd year. In 2 years, despite having a high draft investment, he hasn't won over his coaches or QBs and hasn't been able to make a notable contribution. He didn't even become useful on special teams which you really need out of your fringe roster players. If he doesn't put it together by the beginning of this season, he won't be an Eagle much longer.  I may be the only person here actually hoping he does. Most people around here don't even want him in camp at this point. But if he can't have some kind of impact on this team as a WR when injuries have paved the way for a golden opportunity the last 2 seasons, why would you even want to try him at another position where he would be undersized and have to learn more responsibilities?

Tebow might not have ever been out of the NFL if he would have made the switch back when he only wanted to be a QB.

Apparently the 3rd string TE depth signing is supposed to strike fear into opponents.

It's the new normal. :Eagle_smiley:

(Couldn't resist)

Dick Rod is a great 3rd TE, and more than adequate as a number 2. Smart, solid move.

Maybe dick rod can throw philly special 2 to hurts the dick rod hurts connection
