November 9, 20223 yr A Boebert loss in a solidly red district would be a significant rebuke of Trump’s brand of Republicanism in a state where conservatives have long been independent and rejected extreme candidates and the type of groupthink that tends to propel them to Congress. It would mean that perhaps Republicans aren’t willing to hold their noses all the way to the polls just to secure a majority in Congress. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/lauren-boebert-colorado-s-trump-backed-gun-toting-darling-staring-down-a-monster-upset/ar-AA13Vg59

November 9, 20223 yr The Republican delegate said the twice-impeached former president mobilized his opponents to vote against him more than he energized his conservative base, and he said a third Trump campaign would be "the absolute worst thing that can happen to Virginia state politics." "We must take a different direction and the Virginia GOP and Republicans must divorce from Trump - for the sake of Virginia and for the sake of the nation," Anderson wrote. "I am going to take the first step and say these things publicly that I know many of my colleagues think. It’s a new day. It’s time to move on."

November 9, 20223 yr Big rally coming for whiny, puling, Trumpcucks. Stay tuned for an important message from your god, the Donald.
November 9, 20223 yr Author I would quibble with the "least popular president since" line, because that's just false. Biden has issues there but Trump was definitely less popular at various points in his presidency.
November 9, 20223 yr https://fivethirtyeight.com/live-blog/2022-midterm-election/ Quote Inflation was a key issue for Americans in this election. The national exit poll found that 31 percent of voters named it as their top issue of concern, out of five possible options. But I want to dig into some of the exit-poll numbers on this because one truly wild thing that stands out to me here is the partisan balkanization of what should — you would think, anyway — be objective facts that affect everyone the same way. Take gas prices. An increase in what you have to pay at the pump should, hypothetically, hit everyone’s pocketbooks in a nonpartisan way. If anything, given the self-reported income breakdowns of the people answering this poll, you’d think Republicans (who held higher shares of the three wealthiest income brackets) would be less stressed out than Democrats by the added expense. But reality is an illusion — and how Americans feel about it, doubly so. When asked whether gas prices have created a financial hardship for themselves and their families, voters in these exit polls responded along hard partisan lines, with 64 percent of Republicans saying "yes” and 73 percent of Democrats saying "no.” I guess Dems are just better with their finances.
