Now, the fact that Virgin got government money for its facility is debatable, but blame the politicians for creating the ridiculous system that allowed it to happen if it offends you.

July 12, 20214 yr My favorite is when billionaires actually do give a lot of it to charity or to support humanitarian causes like Gates does, they're still attacked for trying to "play God" or "exert influence" or "subjugate the poors" etc. Legitimately insane things to say about someone trying to invest their own resources to save or improve another human's life.

July 12, 20214 yr I always hate the argument that his money could be better spent elsewhere. The money he’s spending for this is going somewhere. There’s likely many of people who are being paid to help with this, many products being used, and other things. It also likely helps with future exploration and travel. Lastly, if he were to just give away a bunch of money, it may help in the short term, but likely not long term. Give a man to fish idea.
