Agreed, Willie Henry probably won't be missed.

All I can say is good luck with a 4.49 corner.

Again, no, he didn’t.

Think it’s short sighted to assume none of those players will be on the roster next year. Very possible they could re-signed if they play well this year, Eagles cap should be plenty higher next year. And we’ll likely see vets like Kelce, Brooks, Cox not on the roster next year freeing up more cap.

Currently have 12.8 million in cap space next year.  Dickerson will then take 1.9 of that, and still need to see how Nelsons deal is structured and what the dead cap hit will be.

So, at most they have 10.9 million of cap room, with 47 players under contract.

With 3 (expected) 1st rd picks next April, pretty good chance they add an elite talent to the group.  And hopefully MePhearson develops into a solid #2.

Well yeah, I mean what a dumb choice with all these 4.29 40, 6’3” CBs just sitting around waiting to be signed. You’re like the reincarnation of Al Davis. Timed speed in shorts is not the defining characteristic of a good FB player.

Honest question. If they re-sign or restructure these players before FA does it change the void year cap hit?

I would think the void years just become in addition to the new contract.

So basically we can still have the player on the team if they play well and push the cap hit into 2023 where we still have 80M?

They would have to have at least the league minimum salary for 2022, and the proration of the signing bonus on the new deal, in addition to the void year from the previous deal.

Gotcha. Well hopefully they work out and we keep them on the roster. They have been solid players before. I still think we will have more cap from other veterans not being on the team next year.

Thought it was higher than that. Thanks for clearing that up

Agreed, very shrewd off-season by Howie, loaded up on picks for next year, while remaining competitive for this year. Low bar, but hey.

I mean... If they resign Nelson and perhaps some of these other one year FA's then this could be like 2016 again. Some very very good signings.

Psyched for this. Gives Zech time to develop bad puts Avonte back where he’s at least decent. Now get me Stingley next year.

I agree with this all except I don’t think Avonte is even decent as a nickel. Dude just can’t play.

While teams like the Packers, Cowboys, Rams, Saints, and Texans all project to be over the $208 million cap next year, Philadelphia will sit pretty with around $21 million as of now and the potential for $30 million more to be freed up the Birds makes moves or restructure the deals for Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, and others.

That is from May 8th, things have changed.

Do we know Nelson's jersey # yet?

The 40 time is more than sufficient.

Sherman: 4.56
Marcus Peters: 4.53
Xavien Howard: 4.58
James Bradberry: 4.50
Chris Harris: 4.48

If I didn’t have a newborn nor a crippling fear of what next years dead cap number is, I would do a recalculation of what the prorated dead cap hit is going to look like.
