Philadelphia will require Eagles fans to wear masks in indoor areas of stadium

The refusal of some to get vaccinated is affecting everyone, and the latest example comes from Philadelphia, where the city has informed the Eagles that every fan — vaccinated or unvaccinated — will need to wear a mask in the indoor areas within Lincoln Financial Field.

"The City of Philadelphia announced earlier today an indoor mask mandate throughout the city, regardless of vaccination status,” the Eagles said in a statement. "In accordance with the mandate, the Philadelphia Eagles have updated their health and safety protocols. All stadium guests and staff will be required to wear a mask when visiting indoor spaces at Lincoln Financial Field. Fans are not required to wear a mask outdoors.”

The Eagles said unvaccinated fans are "strongly encouraged” to wear masks even in the outdoor seating areas except when they’re eating or drinking, although realistically the people who are not following the public health guidance on vaccinations will probably not follow the guidance to wear masks either.

The policy is in effect immediately and will apply to all fans who attend Thursday night’s preseason opener against the Steelers.

It's a good policy, but it has zero to do with the corporate owned media's "vax/non-vax" hysteria they have created. Even the vaccinated are still getting Covid. Vaccinated players are still getting it, way more than they are reporting. EVERYONE can still get Covid, not just the non-vaxxed. But they hope you will overlook that and just hate the non-vaxxed.

Wearing a mask in crowded situations is the safest thing to do.

This is why the people think this a joke.

65,000 people can drink together in a parking lot. in the bar. in Xfinity live, Can stand asrses to elbow in line waiting to get in and then sit on each others laps with no laps on... but hey, when your in the concourse where your masks. lol

They don’t care at that point. You don’t wish to wear your mask it doesn’t matter to them. They already have your money so they will just kick you out or force you to buy one of their uncharged versions.

Masks are for the dirty peasants, not the clean and enlightened (and rich) crowd.

The vaccine never prevented you from getting the virus, it prevents you from getting the disease

A mask is just common sense in helping to prevent the spread of the virus. Sure, it can help ward off catching Covid, but it's more for preventing those that are infected from spreading it to others.

Also, anyone who thought getting vaccinated would prevent you from catching it is silly. It's meant to lessen the effects if you do catch it, not act as a 100% shield.

Pure optics.  They don't really care if you wear a mask or not, but they have to at least pretend like they do.

Yeah thats kinda what I feel, they want to cover their ass from a PR sense. Honestly its a totally reasonable request, I would have no problem with it (especially when it gets cold outside).

So the Philly city council announced a local mandate and the most visible business in Philly announced that they will enforce compliance and this is somehow news?

Surely if the Eagles said they won't require masks then the Council would hit their ass with fines and such?

Based on his point? Which vaccinated NFL players and coaches have tested positive for the virus but weren’t asymptomatic?

I think it is more of an announcement to inform fans they should plan to bring masks tonight since this was mandated just 24 hrs before the game.

I know people in actual real life who were fully vaccinated and got sick with covid.

To claim that fully vaccinated people can't get sick from covid is fake news.

I will be wearing a mask in the stands as well. I don't want to be part of a potential Super Spreader event. Can't be sure who is vaccinated and who is not.

99% of Covid Hospitalizations and Deaths, are from the Unvaccinated. The Vaccinated are less than 0.01% for both. but yeah, it does happen. No vaccine is 100%.

There is a massive difference and spectrum between someone who is asymptomatic and hospitalization.

@Aerolithe_Lionseems to be under the belief that if you are vaccinated that you can't get sick, that you might get the virus but if you do you will only be asymptomatic. Which is not true.

Also how the CDC is counting covid deaths for unvacconated and covid deaths for vaccinated is via two completely different standards that they have admitted.  If someone is Unvaccinated and dies with a positive covid result or the belief they have covid even if they died with some other underlying issue those deaths are all counted as covid. But if the same thing occurs for someone who has the vaccine then they don't count it as a covid death but instead count the death as the result of the other underlying issue.

cant believe the people crying about crying of mask wearers. Just stfu, dont want to wear it, dont. want to, go ahead.

Why don’t you STFU and stop being a selfish POS. This isn’t a "personal” problem, it’s a public health problem. A public health problem that’s being prolonged by selfish people.
