I simply named the most important thing. I do a lot more but that was the biggest given the subject.

I have been watching live TV news from down there today.  All 8 transmission lines are out.  Could be a few of them are just tripped, and as you see one went down in the Mississippi.  Just the assessment will take days.  Mayor said they have a post storm evacuation plan but it is not needed yet.  They are also having water/sewer challenges as well.  Asking the residents the left to not come back yet.  AT&T has some sort of outage so cell phones aren't working, and 911 system in places is not up yet.

Edit:

That said, it’s definitely a city you don’t want to settle down in. Fun for a few years, then move on.

Multiple lines traverse those larger transmission towers.  Its quite possible those were all eight

Saw a racoon running around in the daytime today.  Clearly confused due to climate change.  Thought I should report it here.

How do you know the racoon was confused due to climate change? Did you talk to it?

I could tell.  Drooling, walking funny, aggressive.  Clearly affected by changing atmospheric conditions.

From what I'm learning from watching/listening to the TV news there the tower that went down was just one of the main lines.  Apparently there are 3 utility distributors and three plants. NO has the ability that they can make their own island power but that will be in no way enough to energize the whole city, but enough for essential services.

Saw pics from Grand Isle today, you can only get there by air or boat.  The few people that are down there are OK, and they are literally writing hand written notes back and forth with the supply drops that they've made so far and the communications are still spotty.  New Orleans lost their web site and phones today, but the Mayor already had a plan in place since they were hacked in Dec. 2019.  They took all the stuff to Baton Rouge and said it would be back on line in a few hours.  They had another #-like the ready.gov stuff that lots of places have-that was working.  Long lines for gas.  Saw a Lowes open up, only letting 10 in at a time.  They got the interstates cleared today.  I was fearing the worst, as far as another humanitarian crisis, but for now, they are doing OK.

Nope, just the leader of the free world that you elected

Actually you had a lot more to do with him being elected than he did.
