Dang J Howard. Thought they were going with 4 RB and 3 TE. Not vice versa

Yup I think it came down to special teams, I think hightower offers more as a receiver but he doesn't play any teams  JJaW does, Howie spent a 2nd rounder on a 5th WR who plays special teams and it's not like JJaw is a special teams demon either...👎

I know this is really controversial. But I'm actually fine with all the cuts. Howard did not look good.

Hopefully we keep our eyes open for DBs and veteran WRs on the waiver wire.

I hope so.  They can’t go all small backs here.  Howard looked good in preseason too.

Both those moves are very surprising to me.

Let's see.  Invariably these rosters on cutdown day are fluid meaning that players seem to pop back on the roster after being released.

Surprised to see Howard cut and only 3 RBs.  Good chance they will claim someone, for sharing the load as much as the short yardage runs.

DT is thin as well.  Though they could bring back Ridgeway or claim someone else. 

Surprised that Tuipulotu makes it.  He did not play well in the pre-season.  Guess his draft status helps.  But that is not the case for Stevens, who is cut.

This roster is still in flux.  There will be movements in the next couple of days.  FO likes to play the game of moving players around to keep their payroll manageable.

Pretty sure Rodgers will be back.  They needed to carry Jackson on the 53 until after final cuts were made ... now they can stash him there and he won't have to remain on IR until after the season.  Once they do that that'll open a roster spot to bring back Rodgers.

We all know this 53 isn't the "final" 53 ... additional moves will be made in the coming days to tweak the roster.

Maybe he's a great game planner. Who knows? The team looks soft as hell though. Poor tackling on defense and bad blocking on offense. One of the reasons why the team was so bad under Chip Kelly (after the fact that the offense only ran 5 different plays) was how poorly they executed basic fundamentals. I've seen a lot of that so far.

Yup surprised Avery made it he's been hurt all pre season I guess the coaches liked him enough in a limited time to keep him, we'll see.

As usual pretty weak group of LBs 👎.

The DEs look deep not much depth at DT no depth at Corner no depth at RB no depth at WR 

But hey Howie and his QB factory have a good O line and eleventy billion TEs🤷‍♂️

So Jacoby Stevens is the only 2021 draft pick they cut?

I had him on my final 53.  But then again, it also wouldn’t surprise me to see them bring him back after week 1 so that his full 2021 salary isn’t guaranteed.  

I hope they trade Dillard, sign a power back, cut JJAW, bring in a legit role playing WR. That's all for now.
