Today was awesome to see. Started to answer a lot of questions. San Fran played well today, Dallas lost a close one to the Bucs and KC may be the class of the AFC. If we're 3-1 after the next few weeks I'll be ready to eat a ton of crow and happily.

Well San Fran’s offense played well, but they gave up 33 points too. That’s the surprising thing to me. I thought the Niners would be strong defensively.

Be interesting to see if the Eagles offense can put up that kind of production against them.

Yeah I'm not sure what is going on with the niners defense. I know they had a lot of injuries last year they were up there with us but, damn they were an up and coming elite group but, right now they just look blah

Agreed. The NFL is a funny business and next week San Fran could blow the doors off us and suddenly the mood does a full 180. But that was a very very good opening week performance.

Exactly.  Can't predict the season based on 1 game.  Both teams were 4-12 last year.  Eagles played great yesterday, after a slow 1st quarter really took off and dominated.  Some great positives to see.  But another game could be a big loss where they play terrible.  Usually you know the type of team you have 5-6 games in.  Let's see how they do against some tougher teams.

You know that’s the weekly basis of football. Even in 2017 after the Eagles lost to KC people said they weren’t good. When Wentz went down everyone said it was over. Heck people wanted Dudfeld to start in the playoffs after that Dallas game. 😂 No reason to go overboard here. I’m going through this season with no expectations personally. Anything is possible at this point. I want to find out if the quarterback can play and can the coach be good is all. So far so good after week one.

And do you know what... I'm not sure we will even really know this team after 5-6 games due to their schedule. They have some really tough games coming up. Now I guess if they get their doors blown off in those games then the likelihood is we have a bad team but let's hope that's not going to happen. I think we could easily lose a lot of these games coming up but still feel reasonably OK with the direction of the team.

Possibly.  I just mean you generally know the kind of team you have as far as what their scheme looks like, what to expect, which players are performing and which aren't, evaluating the coaching decision in game, how they handle adversity, etc.  You're right, especially with the NFCLeast they could get over a rough patch and then go on a run.  My point was that we need more than 1 game to really feel confident about what we have here.  If they have a terrible game next week, the doom and gloom posts will come out.  For now, great 1st game and lots of positives to enjoy.

I agree you can generally tell after 5-6 games. It was after the Carolina game in our Super Bowl year that I started to truly believe we could be one of the best teams in the NFL.

Even if we are really good, I expect us to lose 2-3 of the next 5, but if we are generally competitive and can end up 3-3 or better, it's a pretty good indication that this team will at least compete for the division if not more.

I'm really interested to see what Gannon does on D. He used a fair amount of 2 safety deep looks against the Falcons, but that won't work against the 49ers rushing attack. Have to see how he compensates for our linebackers.

Yeah it's going to be really interesting to see what he does, how he game plans and then how he adjusts if things aren't going very well.

Recent seasons, they "should" have been a good team but started slow or kept talking about how they step up when their backs are against the wall.  They often seemed unprepared or like they were already expecting they were going to win so they didn't work hard enough.  Possibly post SB win over confidence, aging, coaching, whatever.  Then they would go on a run and make the playoffs but lose one and done.  So the team identify was hard to grasp.

Hopefully this coaching staff will have them hungry and focused.

In 2016 the Eagles started 3-0 and people thought it was our year and then they kind of fell apart. It’s a week to week game. It’s best not too get too high or low with anything this season in my opinion.

Every week you can ask yourself questions:

1) Is our offensive line healthy? Yes

2) Is our starting QB not regressing? Yes

3) Is our front 4 on Defense dominates? Yes

If the answer to all 3 is Yes, then trust that the rest of the questions will take care of themselves.

There may be stumbles down the road. There always are. I fully expect next week's game to be a tough fight.

But win or loose, we will not stink...because our Players have too much positive energy and everyone on defense and offense is contributing.

If the eagles offensive line is healthy, they are a top 10 offensive line.

If the defensive line stays healthy, they are a top 10 defensive line.

They have very young skill players.  IF they give the young QB time to develop and learn without getting abused, he'll get better as the season wears on.   If the QB is getting time, then the RBs and WRs will benefit also.

The defensive back field is much better than last year.....as long as they stay healthy and McLeod gets back.

It's hard to figure the eagles out.....but each week it should become clearer and clearer.  Atlanta was favored and got beat bad.

The 49ers are the "real test".....😄........sorry, I had to say it........
