Assuming Hurts has the arm strength, deep balls really are a timing and chemistry thing.......what I mean is that Hurts may not be entirely acclimated to the speed of the WRs....underthrows are frustrating when you see the WR get separation only to have to slow down and fight for the ball.

The ball to Reagor was perfect but Reagor made a mistake by stepping out.  The ball to Watkins was underthrown and cost them a TD.....

Those 2 plays could have altered the game quite a bit.....but I'm willing to be patient and hope the Hurts gets more used to the speed on the outside and adjusts his throws.

He is still in a big learning curve ........and that's what young QBs do.......making any conclusive statements right now is foolish.

The only thing that made that not a TD was #3 getting away with a facemask and horse collar. If the defender has nothing to grab, Watkins easily breaks the contact and goes in. Start watching the closeup replay on Watkins at 30 seconds on that video and tell me where Watkins "slows down."

I was surprised they didn't give the horse collar at the time, it's pretty obvious, I agree absolutely about the 'under throw', he undoubtedly did underthrow a couple of shots in the game, but he couldn't have thrown that pass much better than he did.

Watkins had to slow down a bit and adjust to the throw.....that's slightly underthrown......but it's nit picking.  If that ball is thrown a little further, it's a TD....untouched.

But there was no excuse to come away with no points on that series.

Russel Wilson Rushing Yards are attached below.  It took him Willson 3 years to peak his rushing yards,( 849 year 3), before slowing down and becoming a passing QB that can also run. Surely you have more than 1 game patience??? Let's give Hurts until the end of this year, before rushing into judgements whether Hurts is a Tebow, or potential Russel Wilson type. I believe that he has potential, under the right circumstances, to develop , into the later. For one, not changing an Offensive coordinator every single year of his life, would be a great step. A little more stability.

In my opinion you guys really should be looking at rushing attempts rather than yards gained. 

Additionally, to my knowledge Seattle doesn't run any RPO or option style plays that by design lets the QB decide whether or not taking off to run is the best play.

What I'm saying is that nearly every rushing attempt by Russell Wilson is a broken pass play while Hurts could be running half of the time by play design with no real option to ever pass the ball. To me that makes a difference when comparing these guys rushing statistics.

Now that Wilson got smarter he does. Surely he did not gain 849 yards in 2014 , solely on broken plays.

He knows how to stay inbounds, he doesn't know how to fight to stay inbounds.  He just goes through the motions.  Perfect technique by the corner using body leverage and the sidelines.

I even posted after that Reagor pass that I think Hurts answered the if he can go deep questions. Meaning I thought he was good there. Then the second half happened and I didn't know.wjatnto.make of it. Went down hill real fast for the coach and Hurts.
