it's certainly true nobody would care about him if he wasn't making a ruckus. he's a pretty bad NBA player.

Except he's not calling out Jordan. He's only calling out LeBron because he is too afraid of Jordan's fans.

He’s younger and not from the United States. He probably doesn’t quite understand Jordan’s relevance. To say he’s "afraid” is ridiculous.

He's an NBA player.  I'm sure he's well aware of Jordan's relevance.

So, in summation: The majority of the EMB dismisses Enes Kanter because HE’S APPALLED BY GENOCIDE.

I’ve spent my entire life wondering how the German people could let "National Socialism” happen. Then, in the last decade, I’ve basically watched the beginnings all over again.

And I don't think anyone here dismisses Kanter because he's appalled by genocide.  I personally think it's great that he's calling out Lebron/China.  But, yeah, his rage is a bit selective because there's a much bigger market for Lebron hate than Jordan hate.

This. I can't tolerate hypocrisy. Kanter is selectively using someone more famous to advance himself. Instead of calling out Nike and LeBron James, do the hard work of calling out politicians and trying to change government policy.

Amazingly, that's what he did when combating US policy towards Turkey. So he is willing to do it. But calling out Nike and LeBron gets you on TV faster.

Don't attack other people who have no ability to change things just to up your Q score.

Okay… You’re going to have to explain to me what this picture has to do with state sponsored rioting, looting, murdering, and a general apathy toward genocide.

On second thought, I’ve read your posts. You’re better off sticking with the foolish ad hominem attack.

At this point opposing China’s government shouldn’t be a political issue. It’s just being a Fing human being.

Folks on the right don’t care about human rights.  They didn’t during Kissinger’s realpolitik or the Reagan Revolution.  They definitely didn’t during Trump.  Talk about faux outrage.

Foolish?  My ad hominem attacks are awesome.

And I don't have any apathy at all towards Kanter's crusade.  I think it's great, which you would've known if you read my last post.

But of course, like Moss points out, Republicans unfortunately could give an F about human rights.  You just think it's a good political issue.  And your chicken little nonsense about National Socialism is hilarious coming from a Trump supporter.  Hence the picture.

Yeah, the implicit part of America First was that Trump didn’t care about people in other countries.  If you were a cheerleader for that then don’t expect people to take you seriously now.

Or that the federal government was not going to put the interests of foreigners over those of American citizens, but spin it anyway that your feeble mind needs to.

The feds bow to whoever pays them, or has dirt on them.

That you’re not able to see the contradiction is strange.

Do you want to keep buying cheap plastic goods from China or do you want to pay more because you don’t want to do business with China?  Nike isn’t the only American corporation making stuff in China.  I thought that was common knowledge but I guess not.

 That’s an astounding leap from Trump doesn’t care about foreigners to Nike is just trying to provide their customers with affordable goods. But I’m the one with the disconnect.

It’s not that big of a leap, but OK.  I’m not really saying he doesn’t care about foreigners - he’s just indifferent.  That’s why he cozies up to people like Kim Jong un, Erdogan, or Bolsonaro without blinking an eye.

I have enough problems with people in this country.

I don't doubt that his sentiment is shared by many in the NBA, but to actually say it out loud in public is just unbelievably arrogant and foolish.

That's legitimately his calling card. Check out some of his other interviews...he's insufferable and an imbecile.

Zuker cares because he thinks he can win political points.

Trump definitely didn’t care about them or about human rights in general.
