Here's another tidbit we didn't know about.

Results of a ballistics investigation of the gun by the FBI, released last summer, indicated the gun was functional when Baldwin was handling it. But Baldwin’s attorneys have consistently insisted that finding was flawed, noting that the gun fell apart during the FBI testing.

It was also unclear whether the gun had other defects.

Hasn't this guy killed off enough live production ?

In partnership with the animal rights activist group PETA, actor Alec Baldwin sent a letter to the people in charge of Radio City Music Hall’s "Radio City Christmas Spectacular" show, demanding that the production stop using live animals in the production.

Interesting.  And what were the reasons for it?

Conspiracy to steal Soviet property and hide it in a river.

Long story short, the DA is in an election year and punted by naming two special prosecutors, neither of which have ever actually prosecuted a case before. One does civil defense and one does labor law.

It was said so that "the district attorney can have a dedicated team working on this case and the DA’s office could focus on their normal cases”.

Ive never ever heard of that. Ever. Anytime there’s a special prosecutor it’s because the prosecutor had to remove themselves from the case because they knew or previously represented either a victim or defendant.

99.9% of the time you put a lawyer in a position to make themselves famous by getting a win in court and they’re pushing women and children out of the way so they can file. If by some chance there’s a special prosecutor usually the state has a bank of lawyers they use as special prosecutors. Not sure if NM has that or not, but if it’s a case you really want to win you pick up the phone and call around to find a prosecutor that will, you know, actually have a shot at winning the case.

I'm surprised it took so long. He'll no doubt skate, he can afford the legal team.

Involuntary manslaughter, but I didn't read much further out of lack of interest.

Wasn't that what the original charge was?

Yeah.  Per Bill, this sounds like a politically motivated conspiracy.

It's odd, that's for sure. Would think they'd had to have come across some new evidence or something. Based on what we know, still seems like a criminal conviction is unlikely, but guess we'll have to see what they've got when it goes to trial.

I honestly don't remember lol. A notification popped up on my phone while I was here. I didn't follow this story much when it broke

When @VanHammersly is finished sobbing and shaking uncontrollably from the news, I'm sure he'll be in here to fill us all in on the details

In the calls, she also mentioned other inmates saying things like, "I can’t believe they threw your pretty little white a– in here for nothing,” and that she likes tap water, hard beds and thinks "cat food isn’t too bad,” according to the filing.
