Would have to check with the producer of whatever is airing on PBS that night to make sure it doesnt interfere with ratings.

I hope so. The more pressure on us the better.

I voted no, because it will be Packers @ Ravens that gets flexed

This. Plus I'm sure the national audience doesn't want to watch Hurts screw the pooch again

I believe that game was protected so it can't be flexed.  Football Team-Eagles COULD NOT be protected because it was one of the games that was under consideration for a move to Saturday in Week 15.

It's the Redskins until they get a real name.  F political correctness.  And no, you don't flex it.  I hate night games and both teams are not very good.

In this case, how many "very good" teams are in the NFC?  Right now the Football Team and 49ers have the 6th and 7th seeds respectively at 6-6.  One or both lose next week and the Eagles are suddenly tied for the last (and possibly last two) wild cards.

And then there is the NFC East.  I can see the Cowboys collapse and finish 8-9 while the Eagles run the table and finish 10-7 (though as noted elsewhere, Cowboys would still make the playoffs at 8-9 as the 7 seed, joining the 1986 New York Jets in that scenario as the only teams to make the playoffs after losing their final five games of the regular season).

Let's use some facts.  First, the Thursday, Saturday, and Monday games won't get moved.  Second, each network gets to protect a daytime matchup.  So Fox won't let GB v BAL go.  CBS will keep TEN v PIT.  Not sure if NBC wants to give up a Brady game, either.  IMO, Seattle v LAR has more juice.

Are you some triggered looney?  You don't feel stupid calling them the "Football Team"?  Give me a break.

I just don't want to see them on primetime because I hate night games and if Jalen Hurts comes back, I don't want the nations eyes on his bum arse passing.

Fact is, their name is the Football Team.

That said, I would now myself look to rename them The Senators, same as the two earlier baseball teams in DC that are now the Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers respectively.  You could keep the team colors and put The Capitol on their helmets.  You could even revive the (second) Senators logo and substitute a football player for a baseball player.

Lame!!   Red Wolves would be cool if I were them.

I would go for FC Washington (as is often done in soccer) before I did that.

If they can't handle that "pressure" they're not going anywhere anyway. Imagine playoff pressure.

I don't like the late games. I usually end up eating and drinking too much on top of getting to bed too late. I usually schedule a vacation day when the Eagles play a late game.

Dang...this dead horse being flogged in this thread too. I agree WFT is a silly name. When speaking I just call them Washington (WFT is faster to type).

The case for flexing games is always and only about TV ratings.  The Eagles/WFT game features two big east coast markets but the current game - Saints vs. Brady and his Buccaneers - is a more compelling matchup nationally.

No.:nonono:

The Iggles should only play on Sunday at 1 pm. Or, if they get a Saturday game, 4:30 pm. Screw those night games.
