Another video.  This cop flat out lies to Scheffler.  I'm sure he just wants this all to go away but he should sue the hell out of this police department.

Brief footage of the Scheffler incident.  Hard to see much but what you can see doesn't really back up the police report.

Blue Lives Matter

Equipment upgrades coming over the next month.  Need to replace my PW and all grips.  Also, will start looking at a 225 yard club.  Either a fairway wood or a hybrid.

Does your club have a trackman? Best to test

but are you looking for total distance or carry and hold?

Yeah, we have a trackman.  I can use them or a golf store that also has a trackman and fitting.

When I say 225 I really mean something I can hit in the 215-235 range.  If I can get something that will fit that general length and where I can get it to stop pretty well and not just run thru everything then that would be ideal.

My 4-iron can get me about 190-195 carry with a decent hold if I hit it high and I can get maybe 210 max if I hit more of a running shot on a dry track.  I have nothing in the bag at this point that can get me more distance outside of my driver.

Maybe test a 4 wood or 5 wood and some hybrids

i prefer hybrids myself but its personal pref

Yeah, I'm thinking the same.  My old Quad Pro set had my favorite club back in the day, a 4 wood.  However, it is 25 years old now and I think the stiff shaft isn't what I'm looking for anymore.  I think something similar and new with a regular shaft might do the trick.  Also, the hybrids have never worked for me but I'll give them another shot.

Today I had two par reachable par 5s where I cranked drives but then had nothing in the bag that could reach.  I was 215 away on one but the carry was 195 into the wind and my 4 iron can't carry that far.  The other was about 230 and even with a great strike and total roll my 4 iron would have come up short.  I had to layup on both.  I hit both greens and had two putts for par so nothing negative but didn't have the option to go in two.

Is your course a par 73 or is the other 9 a par 35?

I had a 50/40 the other day.  Love/hate when that happens.

I also found out this week i am probably looking at a hip replacement in the offseason. What i though was tendonitis yielded an xray with moderate to severe arthritis and degenerative changes

I was happy with my 47 on Wednesday :flex:

Had a double, a quad, and two missed Pars that I thought were makeable and pissed I failed on

I've fallen into a pattern of a good 9 and a bad 9.  I've had a 40/50, 48/41, 42/46, and a 46/41 the last four rounds.  I did get an eagle.  Long 4-iron in to 4ft, 2nd time I've eagled that hole.

Old School - I'm a bit old school.  I refuse to get a rangefinder thingy.  One course I played the other day didn't have a book.  They told me to scan a qr code and use an app on my mobile which I found to be too much trouble to bother.  Luckily that was brother-in-laws home course and he was there and had a book plus I've played it many times before.  In any case, the really sheety thing is that they've stopped marking the courses with stakes, distance on sprinklers, etc. :furious:  Give me a 150 stake that I can see from anywhere on the hole and that's all I need.

Dude rangefinders are a necessity

Yeah, tell me.  I'm the only person out there without one.

I'm trying to think of an 18 hole course I've played in MN that doesn't have a white 150td stake and I want to say many have a blue? 200 and a red? 100 (or maybe 75?), I use the rangefinder a lot to tell distance to flag since I cant always tell front/back/center but the white posts are always there

I’m usually playing on my home courses so I know where the flags are when I see them. For sure a rangefinder is quite useful on courses one hasn’t played much. Having said that, a good yardage book and a tee placements sheet does the trick.
