I think Ravens are the most recent run first team in the playoffs and they made it to the divisional but struggled big time on offense and was eliminated The Titans made it to the AFC championship as a run first recently. I think the 19-20 season.

Aaannnnd now the jinx is in, thank you for this incredible post and to looking forward to the off-season.

As long as we lean into that and don't go pass happy, we have a shot. They’re doing all the damage basically with 2nd and 3rd string guards too. They have went up against the best run defenses and still ran the ball. The only test this defense has failed has been going up against competent quarterbacks and they will find themselves dealing with them in the playoffs.

I did a bit of scouting and the Eagles then were called the dream team. I used to be a Manchester United soccer fan so felt the 2 went nicely together. Little did I know at the time the dream team were actually awful. But hey here I am nearly 10 years later.

Little did I know at the time the dream team were actually awful. But hey here I am nearly 10 years later. Talk about backing your way into a team.... Speaking of Manchester United, here is how I began to follow them, besides the obvious bandwagon/halo effect of even knowing who they were. My buddy and me used to bet an easy 50+ bets a season (every Vikes game and every Eagles game and then at least one or two more games that we could lock the other into). We did this for more than a decade. One season, no idea when, I was kicking the ish out of him. Eagles covered everything and the Vikes not once it felt like and he owed a ton (we actually paid too every year-this was real and could range from $500 to a couple thousand by year end). So, he calls me up and drops the limit on me of a $200 "lock" bet, ON A TENNIS MATCH (Nadal and someone I think I vaguely recall). Of course, he wins. So, the moment he calls to crow, I say $200 on Manchester United (essentially pulling a bet out of my a...) and they win, of course, neutralizing his $200 pick up. And I became a fan.
December 27, 20213 yr I actually don't want them to make the playoffs. One and done in the playoffs accomplishes nothing and will hurt their draft position as well as give them a harder schedule next year. Ideally for me they play well but lose to Dallas and just miss the playoffs.

Sure making the play offs does hurt the draft position a little but not massively really. If they are one and done it'll be a few places at most. If they aren't then we can get excited about going on a little run.

You should root for Jaguars then, they don't go to playoffs thus don't hurt their draft position pretty regularly...actually they are one of the best teams in doing so, so they fit your way of thinking well

With that capital they can basically draft wherever they want to. Besides people aren’t going to be happy with who Howie picks regardless of where they draft. Being angry about making the playoffs coupled with being angry with who Howie drafts is just too much anger. 😂

Well if we make the playoffs of the above 3 teams I think Tampa is the most likely one we could win, then Dallas and don't think any chance of beating Green Bay. Still have to make the playoffs first. The birds may have at one more egg to lay by seasons end though. However Washington may have packed it in after the beating Dallas put on them (that game was pretty much over after the first quarter) and if they have nothing to play for may rest that last game of the season. I am pretty sure Dallas won't risk injury prior to the playoffs as they seem to have a hard time winning when just missing one of their "star" players. I am sure the Cowboys would rather play the Eagles in the first round than the Saints or Vikings so they may prefer to lose to the Eagles to end the season to face what they will probably believe is the easiest match up.
December 27, 20213 yr To be honest, based on how our season looked (on paper) before we kicked off week 1, and how we looked after 7 weeks, I will be more than happy with our upturn since week 8, and making the playoffs will be a result, as far as I am concerned... Yes, we most probably will be a one and done in the playoffs, but just to play at least 1 game in the post season is a hundred times better than where I thought we would finish up, 3 months ago... I have enjoyed the last 2 months of football that the Eagles have put on show (despite some ropey quarters), and can at least see some development across almost all aspects of the team, including coaching, and if nothing else, I have watched another outstanding season from the best Centre in the NFL! Go Birds!...

We're like a southpaw in conventional stance. We can rock you with the jab but our right is underdeveloped and inconsistent. We're not likely to knock a team out but we can win on the scorecard and do a lot of damage if we remember to keep up the jab.

Fun Fact Mike Tyson was left handed and fought orthodox 🙂 His right looked fine to me. Till he ran into Buster anyway.

And imagine if the Eagles manage to pull off an upset in round 1? Would be devastating to many here.
