Beating up on a bunch of cupcake quarterbacks seem to have people confused all around. TJ Edwards is suddenly elite, and the Eagles suddenly are believed to be an elite defense. The same defense that was breaking records for letting quarterbacks pick them apart with 80-90% completion percentages.

The truth is somewhere towards the middle... Though I'd say on the bad side of the middle. I do think this defense has made some improvements but it has a long way to go.

I'm middle of the road on this too. Im trying to remain optimistic and realistic instead of trashing the guy who has a lot to learn and could use some talent. Every year people bish that the schedule it's brutal and not fair. Then at the end of the season people are saying it's all fool's gold cause it was an easy schedule lol. #clowns

The defense is both the guys who shut down bad teams as well as the guys who can’t stop good to elite quarterbacks. That’s why it’s really important to see what happens after this season is over. For now though just ride the playoff wave. The worst thing that can happen right now will be for this team to assume they’re just one player away from elite. They aren’t that close.

The playoffs will hopefully give us a better picture of how close or how far a way we really are. Let's face it the defense and the offense have looked pretty bad against better teams and we won't know how improved they really are till they actually face some good teams..

As it stands now the only part of this team I think is able to perform against good and bad teams is the run game. The rest we will see in a couple of weeks.

The offensive line is probably the best squad on this team. Offensively this team could use several players. Running backs that aren’t as injury prone as the guys we have now. Another TE who can step if Goedert goes down. At least one legit veteran wide receiver, because Jalen Reagor is not good enough. On defense they need a better pass rush which probably means they need out side and inside additions. They could use a play making linebacker, an upgrade over Nelson (let’s face it Slay isn’t getting any younger either) and a play making caliber safety. They could also use a legitimate return specialist. Reagor is just a black hole wherever he plays.

Sadly if Reagor turned out to be the player they thought they were getting with his skill set that would solve a lot of those issues they need.

Actually I should say physical attributes not skill set. Cause his skill set is being mentally handicapped lol

The first Washington game Reagor caught three passes for like 50 yards. If he just did that he ends up around 50 catches and around 800 yards. That’s still far greater than what he provides them now. He didn’t have to be elite, but he’s not even adequate right now.

In fact he's damn right poor! If he could have been a solid #3 then that would have been something. Quez is a good #3 and if Reagor could have been about the same then this offense would have been better.

Reagor and JJAW must go yesterday. That's all I've got on those two.

He didn’t even have 300 yards. And yet he played every game this year and was the #2 receiver. How the hell is he even on the roster? Hightower? Agholor? Watkins? Fulgham? Yup I’d take any of them over Reagar.

I thought he was hurt for a game or two, but it seems that he played in all 17 this season and started 13, but somehow had LESS receiving yards from when he was a rookie. This kid stinks.

Receivers run freely in his scheme, which is why QBs look so good against us, we don't have the speed on D for his type of scheme.

Whatever happend to Davion Taylor?. He still on IR? I didn't know his injury was season ending. He did show some flashes during the season before getting hurt.... Again.

Oh, I thought the title of this thread was @Gannan must change his ways.  Never mind . . .

Mike Zimmer to replace Gannon?

Fangio or Flores are better choices over Zimmer. Gannon is from the Zimmer coaching tree. We need a DC who will not be predictable and will get creative with pressure which is Fangio and Flores.

Gannon isn't going anywhere

No worries I’m 100% certain people will hate the next DC too.

Gannon just needs to go. Simple as. He's a bad bad DC.

I'm sure he would have long since moved on to a head coaching position, but do you ever think we just should have kept Sean McDermott? We clearly missed something with that guy as a DC. He had success here as a position coach, and while he struggled as DC here he did wonderful things in Carolina and even now as HC in Buffalo.

I mean you are probably right... He's shown he's a good DC and HC. But if he would have shown that here then in time he'd have become a HC anyway.

I think he’d be decent if he actually dialed up some pressure in the first half of games. For the life of me I cannot understand why he plays conservative until the second half, after his D has already been ripped through in the first half. Just bring the damn blitzes from the opening snap.

I think a lot of teams are starting to become enamored with young coaches. It’s been a trend for a few years now. I mean McVay is an outlier in that he was REALLY young when he became head coach, but across the board you’re seeing a gradual decrease in the average age of a head coach.

With that said, he probably won’t get the job, but I’m not surprised they’re interviewing him.

Maybe he is seeing what the offense is doing and where their weaknesses are so he knows where he can attack in the second half? That's my best guess anyways. I don't recall to many games where he has given up a ton of points. Yards yes but, the score is usually still manageable in the second half for the most part from what I've seen.
