Antenna arrived today. Will see if it works and if Disney and YTTV work it out by Monday back to Amazon it goes.

Yeah I mean if it works for that Ill just buy an antenna, peacock + nbc sports philly and ditch hulu, saving like 40$ a month.

T-Mobile 5g Internet it changes vpn regularly so Hulu live picks it up as a change of location

Oh that would be big. That would solve my issue.

I would get the HD antenna for eagles games on FOX, Paramount + for the few shows we watch, and peacock for the 6ers.

That'll be way cheaper than paying for youtubeTV.

It looks like NBC sports philly is available on peacock as a $24.99/month add on.

Are you going to pull the trigger? I've never spent a day in my life without live TV I'm not sure I can do it lol. At the very least I can sign up for sling TV which is cheap compared to all the others but at least that gives me ESPN and a few others that I like to flip through. Then possibly get NBA league pass. Since sling doesn't have locals

I think I probably will. That cuts my TV bill from $1020 for YouTube to 600 a year.

It'll hinge on reliably pulling in Fox with an HD antenna

I tried one years ago and in my location I could only ever get 3 of the 4 main locals. Could never get the roght positioning to pull in all 4 at once. But at this point, I really only need to worry about pulling in fox. In the rare event the Eagles are playing on the other station I can adjust it temporarily if needed.

I've never tried one so I'm not sure how good it would work for me. My dad has been bugging me to set one up for him because he doesn't want to pay for cable anymore. Maybe I can kill two birds with one stone

Will be fine for most people. I'm on a literal mountainside surrounded by tall trees. I still pulled in a bunch of stations but couldn't get the positioning right where they were all coming in at once.

My parents used one for a while with no issue.

I'm sure with more commitment I can get it positioned right. Also, maybe they've improved a bit over the past few years.

It shouldn't be an issue for me then. I live in the middle of town in Schuylkill Haven and my dad is in the middle of orwigsburg

Yeah I'd expect it to work. You'll have to play with positioning a little bit but I'm sure it'll work.

My parents was a flat thing like a piece of paper that had holes for push pins to mount to the wall.

So we found just the right spot, and tacked it up there. Pretty easy.

I havent noticed ABC and ESPN or any of the other channels missing at all. I havent even had Youtube TV on since that happened. It wouldnt affect me at all if the eagles didnt happen to be playing on Monday night this week.

I think I need to consider how I can continue watching those minimal shows without a big subscription of tons of channels I dont need. But there seems to be no other options to get NBC Sports Philly, and eagles games.

My parents had DTV stream and it sucked. Didn't have all the locals, and always had buffering issues. They switched to YouTubeTV when I got it and also understand its the best cable alternative there is.

I tried their choice plan for a 5 day trial but, cancelled it I didn't care for it. Not only that after all their little fees and what not it came out to 120. They still offered the Disney and Hulu ESPN package but you had to get there streaming device for 10 bucks a month which would be fine and a good deal but I don't want to have to go to another streaming device. I'm fully integrated in the Google world being that my tv is Google and my phone is Google everything is intertwined.

maybe they live somewhere poor and improved their internet the same time they went to lame Youtube TV. I've gotten locals everywhere I live (moved to NY 8 weeks ago and all my 0-99 channels updated to the local FOX/ABC/CBS/NBC/PBS/CW/etc and I have not had a single issue specific to the service in the 4 years (this coming January) I've had it. And all the channels are 100% identical to what DirecTV has used for the last however many decades, so I can just type in 206 for ESPN or 331 for MTV the way tens of millions of people have been doing for dozens of years now vs having to scroll pages and pages of guide to get to whatever channel someone wants to switch to next

I bought a device (looks like a Genie or really small set-top box) for a flat fee that came with a remote like 4 years ago. My grandparents (grandfather couldn't use a streaming remote or launch an app to save his life) still have the dish-based DTV service and I was looking up the cost to match her current plan (which is close to $200/mo) switching to their streaming and I want to say it was going to come out to under $100 with the promo-discounts most companies offer for the first 12 or 24 months
