April 10, 20223 yr Johnson fell to #15 so had to draft him. PGH offered their 2023 2nd Rounder to move to draft a QB and that's a great return on moving back just 2 spots. So that's TWO 2023 1st Round picks and TWO 2023 2nd Round picks in our coffers. Yeah, we're getting our QB in 2023! TEN offered 26 & 90 to move back another 6 spots so did that deal and drafted Winfrey. Now we have TWO DLs who can put some serious heat on the QB. Not much of great value at #51 the way the board fell and it was either between Tolbert or Pierce. Went with Tolbert because of his combo of speed and good route running. At 76 and 101 got us a couple DB ballhawks while adding an athletic, smart, and scheme versatile LB in between them. Picked up our Kelce replacement at 124. Let him sit a season and learn and get stronger. We need to add another young RB to the mix and 5th Round is where there's choices. Went with Smith for his potential upside and health. He was a LB that only converted to RB in 2021, but racked up 1600+ yards for Baylor including 170 in the Bowl game vs an SEC team. He's already adequate in pass blocking, but could use polish as a receiver out of the backfield, which Sirianni should be able to help there. He should get better the more he learns the nuances of the position and low miles on his tread as well. Jones was great value in the 7th and could be the return guy we've so sorely needed for ages now. He might turn out to be a better player in the 7th Round than Reagor is for a 1st Round pick (I know, low bar there).
