Fandango now (former Vudu) was selling the entire collection on digital for $19.99 this past weekend. Not sure if those deals are still active

That's way over the top for my blood. I really liked the original structure to it, had some lasting images too. Just didn't pay off at the end. Really frustrating they just abandoned the school shooting angle. It's a theme that sorely needs a defining horror film and this should have been it. You'd think school/church shootings would be its own sub genre by now but its 2025 and the definitive movie is still Elephant, inspired by Columbine FFS.

Also rewatched The substance, what an instant classic.

My wife is not a horror movie fan, but my son wanted to watch this and now it’s a Halloween ritual. Both still cry at the end.

I did like it, just didn't pay off at the end much. Still a solid 7.5/10 or so.

Been rewatching the Scream series. Just realized today there is a Scream 7 coming out. This time Ghostface is after Sidney's daughter, who she apparently has.

Also why don't these releases happen in time for Halloween/October? Wednesday on Netflix in August, Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein comes out Nov 7th a week after Halloween. Scream in February. I get that not every horror movie will come out in October and there can be horror releases throughout the year, but October is when people most want to watch scary movies so put the bigger franchises then.

She meets the lame cop in Scream, Kincaid I think is his name (some actor who's name I forgot and never thought was anything special). I think in Scream 4 she alludes to having been with him ever since, and in either 4 or 5 that she makes appearances I want to say she had a line along the lines of "Mark and the kids stayed back home". I haven't done a watch in a loooong time though so that may standout to you if you have recently (or do) rewatch these.

As for Feb, Jan-Apr is always a theater wasteland and Horror movies still manage to pull $100M box offices, so I think a lot of these end up being the crutches that help the studios turn a profit in their off-peak months.

Pre production for this was also a disaster. They had director changes, fired the one older sister from the previous two Screams and then Jenna Ortega dropped out. Between all that and probably having to re-write the script, I'm not surprised.

I watched 4 the other night, but in the background so didn't notice any talk about her having a kid. Next is 5, which at least was good because of Jenna Ortega and the other girl in it brought some new life to the franchise. I saw fans on the tweet replying they never heard a mention of her having a child but it doesn't really matter in a franchise where teenagers continue to be serial killers that have the powers of Michael Meyers and Jason combined until the end when it's revealed their just scrawny teens.

That one makes sense then. But like with Netflix putting Frankenstein a week after Halloween, why not do it in mid October?

Literally just watched the scene in 5, Sidney jogging with a stroller. Answered Dewey's call, mentioned picking up the girls. I only saw this once & hadn't remembered that.

Nice! I knew there was something minor in one of them but its been a minute.

I've still got about 30 minutes left, but Vicious with Dakota Fanning is awesome! Jump scares through the friggin roof. If you like Truth or Dare or Smile or Ready or Not, this movie is in that category. Some demon entity (I think) that just wreaks havoc on her in the worst ways imaginable. This genre of horror, along with butt stuff, are my guilty pleasures in life. Happy Halloween you ****ots!!

I really liked Weapons. A few minor nitpicks on it, but overall I thought it was awesome. The final "chase" scene at the end was hilarious and amazing
