Iggles - just can't go with you this time.

Any draft that ignores the cornerback void isn't one I'd subscribe to,

I'm not a fan, but thanks for keeping the board alive.

Check this one out. It's my favorite so far. Posted this last week.

Made 3 trades during this simulation:

  • 15 for 20 and 52 with Pittsburgh
  • 52 for 61 and 102 with SF
  • 123 for 128 and 192 with Dallas

Went into the draft knowing about the Riddick signing and assuming no others.

Went into the draft with the following needs: CB, DE, S, S DT, LB on defense and WR, TE, RB, QB on offense. P and punt returner on teams. CB, RB for depth.

Draft:

  • 1/15 - CB Stingley, replaces Nelson
  • 1/19 - DE Johnson, replaces Barnett
  • 1/20 - S Hill, replaces Rodney
  • 2/51 - WR Pierce, replaces JJAW
  • 2/61 - TE McBride, backup to Goedert
  • 3 /83- RB Allgeier, replaces Howard
  • 4/102 - LB Tindall - replaces Avery
  • 4/128 - S Cross - replaces Harris
  • 154 - DT Henningsen - replaces Ridgeway
  • 162 - CB Evens (6'1" 4.45 - good H-W-S prospect), provides depth
  • 166 - WR Phillips (punt returner), replaces Ward
  • 192 - P Camarda, replaces Siposs
  • 205 - QB Glass, either replaces Sennett or practice quad developmental prospect

Got all of the needs except a 2nd running back.

What do you think?

Would be thrilled with that haul!

Not sure if Stingley is going to last to 15 though. Teams watching his tape are going to fall in love with him closer to draft time. Can see Sauce going in the 4-8 pick range and Stingley going soon after, maybe 8-12 range. And he's probably worth trading away a mid round pick to go get him.

In regards to my previous mock draft, I'm pretty high on Coby Bryant. Sauce was the shutdown CB on that defense, but Bryant was an above-average CB2. Think he has the size and athleticism to succeed in the NFL. Him and Slay would make a nice duo, with Gowan and McPherson backing them up.

I know it's from a Steelers-related website, but this is a great write up and breakdown of CB Coby Bryant. The comparison to Kendall Fuller is intriguing.

Thanks pal - appreciate it

I really like it with one exception. We need a starting caliber safety.  I'd probably replace Mafe with the highest rated of Brisker, Hill, or Cine still available.

  • Johnson is a nice pick and a certain need. Someone has to be in the rotation when BG leaves in 2023.
  • Wyatt - Great pick. He'll contribute immediately and fit right in when Fletch leaves in 2023
  • Mafe - not sure about this one. Two edge rushers before a corner, wideout and safety doesn't seem the best move to me.
  • McCreary seems to be a solid corner. Good pick.
  • Doubs - I'm assuming Pickens, Watson,  Pierce and Tolbert were gone. If one had been available I'd have taken them over Doubs.
  • Tindall - great find and upgrades the LB room.
  • Robinson - if he's available here, run to the podium. Fantastic pick.
  • Weatherford - looks, ok but is he ready to be an NFL starter? The safety selection is this draft's weak point.
  • Turner - just what we need and this is a good spot to get it. A little light, but PFN says he's a beast in the red zone.
  • Bell- great height weight speed prospect which is what I look for at this point in the draft. Should improve our depth.
  • Eze - I only want an OT if we trade Dillard. Maybe the plan will be to trade him after the draft for a 2023 pick. If that happens, this is a primo pik
  • Shaffer - don't see a need. We have Dickerson, Seumalo, Herbig, Driscoll, Opeta, Awisoka, and Clark. Would rather see some additional corner depth here.
  • Araiza - great pick.

Thanks for the action. Keeps the grey matter percolating.
