lol ...ummm NO.  Thats ridiculous.

A signing to placate howie’s ego

His 2.5 sacks and 24 penalties will be most welcome this season.

Howie is nuts. This FA period is a snooze fest.

Next up: JJAW extension

Well said but hopefully no

What a bunch of cry baby drama queens. It's week two of free agency so his price probably came down significantly. Barnett is ok and still only 25 and with Ojabo's injury it puts them in a position where they don't have to force a DE if nobody is there at 15. If they paid him 10 million a year I will be right there complaining, but if they got him him on a bargain it's a decent move.

No. No. Nooooo! No! Fing no!

He did break all of Reggie White's records.

…really?

Your Eagles fandom is fragile enough for Derek Barnett of all people to break it?

Did you just wake up today to have a surface level understanding of the Eagles under Howie?

This is probably for no more than $3-4M per yr. See him better than Ryan Kerrigan as a rotational, so it's a massive upgrade. Good insurance for BG off the injury & if the draft runs dry at DE.

My fandom is not so conditional as to be at the mercy of my current temperament.

I agree that this gives the Eagles more flexibility to not draft a DE in first round. Just draft BPA. Outside of the top 2 DEs I dont see any of the other being worth of top 20 maybe sides the Purdue player

See I think it's more an acceptance that one of those top 3/4 guys aren't going to be there. I think they have made this move on the basis that they don't think they can get a DE in the first round without it being a reach.

Correct! No more Marcus Smith selections please

I'm sure they won't do that no. They just won't improve much on last year's pass rush.

And they brought this guy back. I'm sure Sirianni is pretty livid.

I want to see what he signed for before I start frothing at the mouth (like I did when we picked up his 5th year option).  The starters are penciled in as Sweat and Brandon (who is coming back from a major injury).  If he is cheap and a rotational player I'm fine.

Great.  We have to deal with this nitwit for another 2 years.  My statistical prediction for him looking foward:  2 sacks, 5.5 tackles and 46 personal fouls.

I don't really care how cheap. He hurts the team in most games. He doesn't add a lot of value to the team and does very little good. He could be free and I still wouldn't want him in the rotation.

Stop supporting this team until this pile of pig vomit is no longer GM.

This is BS.

Pig vomit's script this off season seems to be going against the grain of what other teams are doing - trading stars for bounties of draft picks and then getting signed to crazy contracts.  Eagles are rebuilding in 2022 and 2023.  This move is consistent with that.  @paco, @downundermike - how does the Eagles cap situation look after 2022?

This move is consistent with building a not very good roster is what it is.

Short term, yes.  But it looks like the Eagles are to clear things out short term with an influx of youth and reasonable contracts for the next couple of years.  I wouldn't expect any significant noise from the Eagles until 2024.
