Oh yeah, an act of terrorism no matter the culprit.

No - but when a guy is wearing a gas mask, shooting people, followed by a traincar full of smoke, it's something that needs to be investigated for a terror link.  Or is terrorism something that you liberals ridicule outright these days?

Since we're throwing out crazy theories and spouting off randomness....I think this was a test.

People are so "ok" with the new normal of masks, and F***ing weirdos wearing weird ish that this dude did some bad thinks with a gas mask on and apparently no one thought different.

The crazy thing is...walking, riding trains, subways etc etc can get you REALLY far away from the city in 5 hours.

the other crazy thing is..apparently stuff like this happens ALLLL THE TIME in NYC. My brother (lives in LIC) tells me once a day he here's of people shot at the train station, muiplty people pushed onto train tracks etc etc.

When I said "You alright?" he goes... wonder why this would hit the news and all the others don't. I guess 5+ is the threshold

Sure, there are shootings all the time in NYC, it is a liberal run city after all and criminals are rarely punished, but this one would definitely not fall under the routine category. Dude had a gas mask, smoke grenades, and was shooting people at random.

Right because gas masks have totally become normalized. I see them everywhere I go now. Salient point, trumpbot.

This meltdown wasn't entirely expected when I started the thread, but it has been pretty good. Thanks, grandpa.

I am not melting down at all, or even the slightest bit upset, just pointing out what is obvious to all that you only care when POC commit a crime.

Just so EVERYONE in here is clear, the following is the definition of terrorism:

Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as "the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R.

Just so we're clear - you probably don't even know what the CFR is nor are you aware that the definition of terrorism is not limited by what some Washington bureaucrats decided it was in a regulation.  Merriam Webster gives a much broader definition:

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/terrorism

Definition of terrorism

: the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion

You haven't been to NYC in awhile either.

My last trip which was around valentines day I saw the following

Numerous people in anonymous masks, Clown masks(not halloween) A guy in a VR mask but it wasn't plugged into anything.

It's shocking how out of touch Americans are with NYC

I hadn't realized Kz and procus took a trip there. Must've been saving up several months worth of those kmart paychecks.

Its basically using violence or the threat of violence in pursuit of an objective. That's why, say if it were a POC wanting to kill whitey because he hates whitey, or vice versa, it's technically not terrorism IMO.

I still say any event like this should be treated as terrorism until it's proven it's not. If it turns out to be a wacko who killed a bunch of people because he's a wacko, fine. But I'd assume labeling it as terrorism allows more tools to be brought into play during the investigation and time could be a factor depending on if the guy is acting alone or not.

What a bunch of idiots commenting on this thread.  No compassion or concern for the victims - just knee jerk reactions about why this isn't terrorism - as if any of them were there or knows what's really happening on the ground.  No different than the genius who was joking about the accident that killed Dwayne Haskins.

You mean there's a thread in CVON where the suffering of innocent civilians is being ignored, obfuscated for political reasons, or worse yet labeled as a false flag? It's unimaginable.

You struggling with reading comprehension ??  "An act of terrorism, no matter the culprit"  Seems pretty clear I said it was terrorism.

There are only three K-Marts left. If we just randomly pick one and go there we have a good shot at meeting one of them.

Two things here...

1) you haven't been to NYC in awhile. Gas Masks, F***ing weirdos, smoke grenades is literally a think that happens every stinking day

2) Per my brother, who lives there... he was shocked this made the news and other stories/shootings/subway issues haven't.

this is Abra level BS right here.

Clearly you're out of touch. I was in NY just last week and I lost count of the number of times smoke grenades were used.

No, C's can at least take a pounding.

right, because smoke grenades are real difficult to procure.  You need some insider in the military to smuggle them in for you.

Haha....I know far more about the CFR than you, my friend.  trust me, I deal with federal permitting on the reg.

smoke and explosions filled time square yesterday and last week(in the news)

4 people were shot on the 7 train last week(in the news).

There's 45,000 people in NYC that are homeless. roughly 40% 18,000 people have severe mental issues.

But sure man. NYC is good, no weirdos, no issues, all good

Are you really not going to admit "every day" is hyperbole?

Try interpreting title 26 and get back to me

They're not calling it terrorism at this time, however the joint-terrorism task force is investigating.

Quote

The FBI is working with the NYPD on the Brooklyn subway shooting investigation and they are following "every viable lead," Michael J. Driscoll, assistant director in charge of the FBI New York field office, said Tuesday afternoon.

"The FBI’s and NYPD’s joint-terrorism task force is made up of over 50 agencies and we are fully-engaged on this investigation. It’s still very much in its early stages. Our focus right now – our thoughts and prayers are with the victims. We’re following every viable lead and will continue to do so with the NYPD and our other city partners,” Driscoll said, speaking at an unrelated news conference.
