My wife and I were not young when we had out daughter, 30 and 27, but we always felt young when we went to school functions.  All the parents were at least 10 years older than us.

Yes you were.

I don't think that is young for having a child.  Prime spot IMO

I think anything before or at 30 is "young" to have a kid so from my perspective you were both definitely young

I was just turning 30 when my son was born. My wife being 28 at the time. We always talked and planned on have only one child, but after a couple years we missed having a baby around so decided to try for a girl. And since I have the aim of a well trained sniper, 9 months after we made that decision my daughter was born.

I feel like my parents were considered old because my dad was 30 when I was born.  Things changed since the 1970s and 1980s

Crazy how that happens, huh? We only planned for one as well and then changed our mind pretty quickly.

Oh yeah, if you didn't have a child by 30 it was "what is wrong with you".

Yeah. We were married for five years before having the first, and talked about having one kid the whole five years. Which then caused us to live in a kinda too small home for a decade because of our poor planning lol.

Yup.

When we were Dink's we never knew how much free time we had.

Was just over a decade ago but the wife and I walked from our hotel in the fashion district to 30 rock at 4am so we could get in line for the today show. Never felt safer and I remember thinking "This city's rep is way worse than reality." Not only was it safe, but locals were much nicer and friendlier than advertised.

I would say over a decade ago when Bloomberg was still in office that the city had a good rep as far as safety goes.

We’ll this got sidetracked.  Still we’re DInkers

Yep.  My stepson had a kid when I was 44.

My stepson had his when I was 42.

I’m still in denial though.

My dad did it right. had me at 19, my brother at 23. Kids were grown and out of his house by 40. He became a grandpa at 49ish.

I'll be kid free in 11 years, 11 months and 21 days. Not that I'm counting

I dread the day they leave. My kids are awesome.

I love my little guy...

But when he hits 18...

No more NJ(move away from his mother)

No more child support(unreal amount of money)

No more seeing family members I only see for him(at least a lot more rare)

I can go on and on.

And this is why I lived with my wife for five years before getting married, and was married for five years before having kids (hence being almost 30 before the first kid). I wanted to make sure I had a keeper. More people should do the same and maybe the divorce rates and amount of people that pay child support would not be so high.

Yup, way too many people put the cart before the horse. Marriage is trivialized as some novelty or neat thing to do, as is having kids for a lot of people.

Yes, I literally am.  Not sure what your point is.

I always just find it funny and surprising that some of the people on here who throw around elementary school level insults - you work at KMart, teehee - that smarter posters have come up with are literal grandparents. Just completely bizarre to me.

A grown man such as yourself working at Kmart for 300 bucks a week and then immediately losing it in his weekly poker games is absolutely hilarious though. Just own it.

My kid is filling now filling out online applications to work on the Ocean City boardwalk (first job) and its killing me inside.

A woman (at least I assume she's a woman, this is the internet afterall). And you also, but I put the word "dumb" in front of the C when referring to you.

Yeah we know, bro. You called her a C over a minor disagreement. Completely normal thing to do. Definitely not a scum bag or anything. 😂
