December 10, 20223 yr First significant time for Dean was a positive sign. He even made a play on special teams. Of course that Ellis guy fresh from the practice squad kind of stood out too. I’m hoping the Eagles can lock up home field through the playoffs early enough to get some of these guys some valuable playing time for next year and get some of these beat up guys some rest.

December 11, 20223 yr Was looking for this thread after last game. He looked great in limited snaps. Really high ceiling for Nakobe and I really feel like he will be an all time favorite by the end of his career. Excited to see how he does with more playing time next season.

Need Minn to lose 1 of the next 3 games, and we need to win next 3 and we will have bye locked with 2 games to go. Could possibly see more playing time then. Even though we need to beat NO for a better draft pick.
December 11, 20223 yr Dude's instincts are awesome and great reaction time. Seems like a really good tackler as well. Played bigger than his size cuz he sure looked small out there and he was able to bring down Henry
December 11, 20223 yr Dean played well in limited action last week. Let’s hope that’s a good sign for the future.
December 11, 20223 yr Didn’t get to see much of him today. I know he had a scold early but I stopped paying attention the last drive or so lol.
December 12, 20223 yr I somewhat suspect that he will not play for long..he is a mechanical engineer, and I'm guessing that he will want that as a career after playing it's not out of the realm of possibility that he chooses to retire after a couple of headshots as the OL from the Ravens did, and that LB from the 49ers a few years ago...and who could blame him?
December 12, 20223 yr Despite a nice showing in limited snaps in that Titans game, I'm suspect on Dean. Never seen a linebacker that small have much of an impact.

I'm sure he's jumping at the chance to give up his $1.3 million salary for 60k as a mechanical engineer.

I'm sure he would if it meant avoiding CTE. From the Landmark BU study: "For the study, the researchers began with the donated brains of 202 football players. Pathologists, knowing nothing of a patient’s history or symptoms, examined each brain for evidence of CTE. At the same time, clinicians—blinded to each brain’s pathology—used medical records and interviews with family members to collect detailed information about each patient’s medical history and symptoms. The group met for regular consensus meetings, where the pathologists and the clinicians presented their findings. They limited the study to football players, providing a somewhat homogeneous sample. Of the 202 brains studied, the group diagnosed 177 with CTE, including 110 of 111 from the NFL players (99 percent); 7 of 8 from the Canadian Football League (88 percent); 9 of 14 semi-professional players (64 percent); 48 of 53 college players (91 percent), and 3 of 14 high school players (21 percent). (The group also studied the brains of two pre-high-school players, neither of whom was diagnosed with CTE.) The brains of former high school players showed only mild pathology, while the majority of college, semi-professional, and professional players showed severe pathology." More reason WHY the NFL needs to take this very seriously
December 12, 20223 yr He’s played better the last two weeks than I had expected, albeit in limited action. So that’s encouraging.
December 12, 20223 yr He should be getting more playing time in the next few weeks. Looking forward to watching him

His instincts are crazy... I can put up with him missing some plays due to a size mismatch, I really hope he gets some extended time down the stretch.

Sam Mills was an undersized LB who had a great impact. The NFL has a history of undersized guys succeeding. Look at guys like Darren Sproles, Desean Jackson, and Steve Smith.
December 12, 20223 yr Author Good to see him getting some snaps the last couple weeks and showing something. They will continue to develop him and after his 2nd offseason he should be promising next season as well. He may even end up starting next year depending on how things go with the pending free agents.

December 13, 20223 yr If the Eagles lock this thing up over the next two games I feel like he and many of the other guys will get a ton of experience over the final games. I want to see him out there working against teams who are game planning to win and not ones that threw up the white flag.

Would be doing a disservice to the players and team if they don't let them play.
