People just need to accept the fact this offense runs through the quarterback. It’s his show. Won't be for long, cause now this is 2 games in a row hurts has taken a shot to the head. He is trying to protect himself but it's not going to stop teams from taking shots at him .

The Eagles opened the season with a win but I have concerns about the starting QB and DC. I genuinely hope he becomes the guy long term because that's best case scenario for the Eagles.

The Bills weren’t throwing pillows when they hit and sacked Stafford seven times. Both Wentz and Foles are more pocket passers than runners and both spent multiple games on the sidelines due to injuries.

QB1 was the least of their problems today. I agree with you about Gannon.

They don't run as often as hurts does defenses don't want to take chances on hurts getting away so they will take hard shots at him even while sliding. I'm not talking about anyone else.
September 11, 20223 yr The offense did what it had to to win. I don't think the plan is for Hurts to run 17 times per game. Detroit is an improving team with a good pass rush. We still beat them on the road with sloppy tackling. I will always argue against taking preseason lightly --- because the difference in the performance during the first few weeks might be more snaps played (by starters) than they would have had during limited preseason work. With a cleaner defensive performance, we could have been resting starters on offense and defense in the 4th quarter.

It's just the little things I had hoped he would stop doing, but like I said before it was just 1 week and they brought a lot of pressure today. So we'll see...I hope he gets nothing but praise from me the rest of the season and beyond.

OUT...OF....SHAPE. I have been harping on Camp SiriSoft™ forever. That was a totally out of shape football team. In a sport as tough as football- inexcusable. 23 minutes ago, Hawkeye said: Ya know who wasn't a problem? The quarterback. One and Run? Nah, he has grown soooo much. 🤣
September 11, 20223 yr Most out of shape Eagles team I have EVER seen. Lucky it was the Lions. A good team would have beaten the sheeeet out of them today.

My biggest issue is with Gannon and the D, they have too much talent to look that bad. Buck stops with him. Hurts made plays and they put up 30+ so OK but that game didn’t show me maturation as a passer. Detroit was generating a lot of pressure which will continue with other teams if he can’t show them that he can find the hot read for easy yards and big plays. I get it but there were times where pressure was right in his face as soon as the ball was snapped...not making excuses but I was wondering where the hell this superbowl caliber O Line that these sports analysts were praising....

You certainly can't prevent 100% of injuries but giving yourself up before the D gets to you should reduce the likelihood some. Watch somebody like A. Rodgers when he runs. He goes down before the D can get a lick in. Then watch Wentz or McNabb during his early seasons. They might get an extra yard or two but they might pay dearly for it. Donovan eventually figured it out, I don't know if Wentz has or will.

QB played well I thought. He was under a lot of pressure today. I attribute that to not mixing in the run enough and screening to back off the blitzes. Had a few drops. I'd like to see more running from the backs but hey. The D needs some help on the pass rush side. I expected them to be more stout against the run but Swift is no slouch They have a lot more work to do than the offense that put up 31 points.

September 11, 20223 yr Gannon is just awful. The talent on that side of the ball has grown exponentially he and did nothing with it.

September 11, 20223 yr I had to run an errant during halftime and got back just before the 2 min. warning. From what I gather, we scored a lot but almost let it slip away. Good finish. Lots of question marks with the older defenders.
