Posted October 30, 20222 yr Big guy was carted off - looks like he rolled his ankle. Any updates on his status? I imagine he'll be out for the Texans game, but would be nice to have him back in a couple of weeks.
October 30, 20222 yr We have the depth to survive even a serious ankle injury to Davis. The Quinn trade allows us to move Graham inside at times as well.

October 30, 20222 yr sucks to lose the big guy but if there's one position where we have tons of depth it's DT. Marlon and Milton will get a lot more reps.
October 30, 20222 yr 4-6 weeks isn't ideal, but it's far better than season ending so, we'll see that monster later this season...and so will the Eagles' opponents then

The Eagles have a strong team. In the grand scheme of things 4-6 weeks is an escape.
October 30, 20222 yr Losing Davis for 4-6 weeks is no big deal. As long as it doesn’t impact his career and he returns this year, it’s all good.
October 30, 20222 yr Jordan Davis is the one guy to me that is the most difficult to replace, there aren't any other guys on the roster that have his size and/or skill set. Hopefully he heals up quick and can be back in time for a playoff push.

Davis has played well, but he plays about 23 snaps per game. The way we rotate players, he plays about 35% of the defensive snaps. With our hybrid defense we have flexibility and a lot of pieces we can move around. This certainly isn't something to celebrate, but I disagree with the idea that we don't have guys that are harder to replace.

True, Lane Johnson is irreplaceable on this team, the offense is night And day without him yet I still think Davis is tough to replace even if it's just 35% of the snaps because currently eagles dont have any one else on the roster with his size and skill set. I'd feel a little better if the eagles had another big fatty NT but current they don't. I was excited when they signed Noah Ellis as he's a big fat NT but he got hurt right away. Seems Milton Williams will see an increase in snaps as will Tui I assume and while both had sacks against the Steelers neither of them can do what Davis can against the run. Before Davis went out Harris had zero rush yards, not that Harris is an all pro or Anything but will be interesting to see if Gannon can stop the run without Davis and if Gannon goes away from his 5 man lines?

He’s a loss, but I feel like they can manage the loss.
October 31, 20222 yr I know this sounds weird but i think its a hidden blessing. This team has barely faced any adversity all season, i think something like this will help make them more focused and not take anything for granted.
October 31, 20222 yr You know I think the most improved player on defense is Marlon T. He has been really good at stopping the run and he is no slouch in rushing the passer. He looked like a huge fail last season, although he was coming off a serious injury that lead him to fall to the 6th round. A lot of scouts talked about him as a day 2 type talent. He has certainly showed he can play in this league. Milton Williams is also starting to heat up. I’m glad to see the young talent showing they belong and will be very good players for us. One thing I love about Howie Roseman is when he targets a defensive lineman in the draft no matter what round they came in, they will definitely be apart of the team and the rotation. Look at the guy he’s drafted late. Tarron Jackson was pretty good last year idk why he is in the doghouse because he showed potential. Patrick Johnson is yes a LB but he is more of just a stand up DE and has a FF and almost had a couple sacks , he was around the ball. He was a late 7th round pick and he has been able to have a consistent role subbing out Reddick. Josh Sweat was a 4th rounder that had day one talent. He came from FSU with some serious knee issues but he got healthy and he has been a very good starter for us. Kyron Johnson also a hybrid LB pass rusher has some elite speed and quickness. He doesn’t get a ton of snaps on defense but he does excellent in the special teams role he has. I think he will be one of the most improved player with a year under his belt and work on his body and put on some more muscle. Milton started out quiet last season as he did this year but the light switch seems to be clicking these last couple games. He is a physical freak as athlete and is able to play any position on the line. He has excellent strength and a good get off.
October 31, 20222 yr There was a snap last night when Harris was running down the middle. David was just stood there, no one blocking, with his arms out. Harris thought F that and ran right instead - straight into BG. I think thats what we will mis - He plugs a massive hole in the middle

October 31, 20222 yr It's better then losing him for the season. Rest up big guy. Maybe we will have him back in time for the Sunday night game
October 31, 20222 yr 4-6 weeks is not terrible. Get healthy for the stretch run, we have a championship to win.
