We had 2 ferrets (I know that they smell, believe me, you don't have to tell me). Each of our daughters had 1, got them at the same time from the same breeder.  Had them for going on 5 years now. A few months back 1 started to get bloated, took her 2 the vet numerous times, they ran all kinds of tests, x-rays, ultrasound, turns out she had some type of leukemia that's fairly common in ferrets.  She died last Saturday.  The other one became so depressed that she quit eating and drinking, completely gave up.  We did everything from force feeding to intravenous fluids, gave her constant attention, nothing worked.  She just didn't want to live anymore without the other one, died a little while ago.  The amount of emotion and loss that a little creature like a ferret feels is amazing to me.  I had no idea before.  That's it.

Terrified!!  We have Dot and Dash, lab pit bull mixes 4 1/2 years old.  Brother and sister that have not been apart ever.  Dash was diagnosed with Lymphoma 6 months ago.  We put him on a steroid (not opting for freaking chemo which they said would only buy him months and not cure him) and he started eating again, starting to be able to go to the bathroom (poo not squirt) and he put back on all his weight.  Well, I think he is starting to slide.  He's back to not being able to go to the bathroom other than pee or diarreha and not only is going to suck to have to put him down, but how is Dot going to react after losing her brother.  I love dogs and have had them before...this is the EXACT reason I didn't want to do this again.

Lol.  The donut is plastic and part of our granddaughter’s kitchen play set.

Well, sadly, Brody is going to be losing his "little” big brother, Yoshi. He’s 16 years old and not in the best of ways. He has arthritis, can’t control his bladder and stumbles a lot when walking.  He’s the first dog my wife and I got when I first moved to PA. He’s been a great dog, but like any pet, eventually the time comes that no one looks forward to.

Im so sorry Joe

It's heartbreaking to lose a dog........Dot just lost her brother Dash to Lymphoma.  He was diagnosed 8 months ago, and did a lot better on Pregnazone.  Put weight back on, was eating, active....but the steroid lost its effectiveness and we had to put him down 2 Saturdays ago.  4 1/2 years old, not f'ing fair.
