May 24May 24 We had to say goodbye to this guy..... 13 years. He had been in major decline for the last 2. My sons and myself had been trying to get Mrs 17 to say goodbye for over the last 6 months.... she finally knew it was time. Oddest thing..... the day we took him to the vet.....I swear he knew and he was OK with it........ he reached up and licked my wife's face.... then laid down in her lap and closed his eyes. He looked tired but at peace. They gave him the shot to make him sleepy which he did open his eyes when it happened..... but just laid back down in her lap..... then he was gone.35+ years of owning mutiple pups...... never had one that seemed to accept it was time like that. Mrs 17 is just starting to come back around after two weeks.... and the other 2 dogs looked for him for about 3 or 4 days, but still seem a bit depressed. My sons are fine as they were not around much in the last 10 years. Me ? Still processing this little guys actions in his final hours.

May 28May 28 After 2 surgeries, a clean ultrasound in March and completion of chemo, my dog Molly's mast cell cancer returned and I had to put her down on Monday. She's my first dog and I'm absolutely gutted. She gave me the best 8 years I could have asked for. I'm going to miss my sweet girl.

June 15Jun 15 So as to make my esteemed colleague @Redden not get too bummed. This is Kona. My two girls were starting to get into it without an Alpha male.Last time guys...... I am getting too old to do this. And I realized today.... this dude could outlive me.
