They are being protected from mistakes by limiting their passing attempts.

I guarantee if these QB's had the same amount of attempts as the top QB's, those numbers would regress.

Smith 428 atttempts

Hurts 388 attempts

Tua 345 attempts

Hurts is putting up his numbers with the best O Line in the NFL, a 1st round pick + 100 million dollar WR, another 1st round WR, and a top5 RB.

Mahomes is doing it with his #1 weapon taken away, an UDFA RB, and a suspect offensive line.  And he is going to set the single season passing yardage record and throw 43 TD's, his second highest career total.

 

Here is how sensitive a portion of this board is, they can not admit that player X is better than someone that plays for the Eagles.  Mahomes would throw for 6000 yards with this team, and Mercury Morris would be shaking in his boots right now.

His "percentages" would dip, but his overall yards and TDs would increase (INTs as well).  Who knows, those numbers still might put him in the top 5 passers, unless he suddenly started getting super careless with the ball.

The point is, you can be objective when talking about Hurts and point these things out.  No one is racist, no one hates the guy.  Some folks just want to pound their chest about Hurts so they can get there "I was right about him trophy" in the mail.

I could list tons of guys I was right about, I don't run around pounding my chest about it.

It honestly makes me laugh. I called Marcus Smith and Danny Watkins being busts the second they were drafted.

It's not the same when it's your teams QB, leading your team to a 12-1 record while playing at an MVP level. There's just gonna be more energy there. 

The alternative could have been the people here who thought he sucked could have been right, and we wouldn't be where we are right now lol.
