August 9, 20232 yr people that cant figure out how to merge. if im the only vehicle in the right lane for 200 ft, i shouldnt have to move over a lane for you to merge. either beat me to the end of the ramp and get infront of me, or tuck in behind me. any more i only get into the left lane at a merge point if theres a long line of traffic merging or a long line in the right lane. anything else and im staying put and the merging car can either figure it out or run out of room for all i care.

I want to crash into a wall anytime I get stuck with some trash rental car that struggles to go 0-60 in under 10 seconds. I lose zero races to the merge point in my own vehicle, and when I do, I nod in respect to the other driver!

If the left lane is clear I always move over for the car the merge. Also drivers should utilize the zipper technique when a lane ends and not get pissed at those who use the closing lane until the very end, merging early increases the backup.

Cars slowing down increases the backup. If you can get over early and not have to slow down, it won't increase it. Now, hanging in the closing lane until the last moment and causing the person in the open lane to slow down so you can get in will increase the backup

Expecting the other car to make an adjustment while you’re also making an adjustment can lead to dangerous issues.
