I don't know why Shapiro is testifying with the House to begin with. 

But I don't see Shapiro "demolishing" anything. He had a prepared response. 

Republicans campaigned forever against "the Green New Deal", and that was nowhere near the platform of the Democratic party and Biden himself specifically stated in 2020 as a candidate he did not support the Green New Deal. Biden's actual plan fell well short of what supporters of that "deal" wanted, and it's one of the criticisms the far left has of Biden.

By comparison, a large number of principle contributors to Heritage's Project 2025 are directly connected to Trump and his campaign. Project 2025 was created directly in response to Trump's inability to basically act as a King instead of a President from 2017-2020. Project 2025 is an evolution of Heritage's "Mandate" policy documents, which they specifically tout on Project 2025's website as the guidebook Trump used during his term. 

Let's repeat that: Project 2025 is literally being written as a plan FOR Trump's first 180 days in office, should he choose to use it as he did already.

No deflections and obviating of the truth by Shapiro or anyone else can change the basic facts here.
