ONE DAY BEFORE SHOOTING, DEM REP JASMINE CROCKETT COMPARED NATIONAL GUARD TO "SLAVE PATROLS"

Just one day before two National Guardsmen were shot in a targeted attack near the White House, Rep. Jasmine Crockett went on camera and compared them to slave patrols:

"I'll say it again.

Donald Trump's mass deportation system makes me think of what a modern-day slave patrol would look like.

Slave patrols were armed groups empowered by the government to control, intimidate, and terrorize people solely based on color.

That's what's happening now....

Donald Trump is sending mass agents without warrants into communities of color to terrorize the people who live there."

This comes after Don Lemon urged Black and Brown Americans in October to arm themselves against federal agents, saying "isn't that what the Second Amendment was written for?"

Both soldiers remain in critical condition.

The FBI is investigating the attack as possible terrorism.

The suspect is an Afghan national.

When elected officials call service members terrorists and media figures tell people to arm themselves against federal agents, this is what you're inviting.

Words have consequences.

Two young Guardsmen are fighting for their lives today.
