I don't know that I look forward to disagreeing with Biden's decisions, I'd much rather he not do really stupid ish, but I don't feel any obligation to hide any of my criticisms either. Probably because I'm not in a cult like trumpbots are.

What I find hilarious is a lot of theTrumpbots on this page don't understand when we are going overboard praising Biden, we are really making fun of how they acted during Trumps 4 years.

To be fair though... it’s got to be difficult to detect the sarcasm after watching Biden orchestrate the greatest first 100 days since they started tracking it statistically...

Agreed. BTW, does anyone know how the market is doing?

Better question... how many presidents have been able to take the BULL literally by the horns and toss the DOW over 34,000 points during a pandemic, inside of 100 days in office?

I believe the correct answer to your question is one.

Turning Point

honestly, I have no idea why people follow Charlie Kirk or share his stuff.  I noticed my cousin who lives in Florida likes him on facebook.  Smh...

The GOP is the party of the working class.  Dems are elitists.  Also, Dems don’t own their own homes.

Charlie Kirk and TP USA are only followed by fools and grifters.

But the attacks on capitalism and attempts to associate all the world's ills with it are shallow and intellectually dishonest. Capitalism has lifted billions out of poverty. It has its flaws but when regulated at appropriate levels there is no other system that works as well in coordination with basic human nature to advance technology and economic growth in a way that lifts up all members of a society.

Beware the dangers of crony capitalism and domestic protectionism.

Caught one!

I don't even know who Charlie Kirk is brah, saw a meme and shared it. Mostly because I knew it would trigger the "capitalism is bad" crew.

Your triggered response was perfect. I'll bet you sent that to Munson too for moral support.

He’s the founder of Turning Point, the organization that cranks out a lot of those awful memes you post.  The more you know...

I generally agree:  it’s the most efficient economic system.  I think unbridled capitalism is bad for society though.  Which is why the U.S. government created some socialist programs...

sure. I'm probably biased but having grown up here I think the way we do it is actually not bad. though it could be better.

given the recovery I think the package passed in January was too much spending. you legitimately have service industries that cannot get people off unemployment and back into the work force, and that's a real problem. I have not looked closely at the January package in terms of UE/etc. benefits, but I suspect that if some of these states start rolling back some of the rules like not requiring people to be looking for work  while on UE (which is insane) that the package will come in cheaper than it was originally billed. at least I hope so.

entitlements in general to me should consist of subsistence level cash benefits. just generally speaking I don't think people ought to be getting more than is necessary to get by as a bridge. I'm ok with gov't bridging between jobs, but it's got to be strictly time limited and a percentage of salary capped at some number.

I feel similarly about social security. people treat it as retirement, but that was never the goal. if it means you need to move in with your kids or reduce your lifestyle dramatically because you didn't otherwise prepare for retirement, well that sucks for you. but it was never meant to be anything more than ensuring the elderly and infirm who were once productive members of society and paid in to the system were at least able to stay off the street. it ought to be means tested and the age of eligibility should be adjusted annually based purely on the number of recipients vs. those paying in. that's the only way to make it sustainable.
