I'd say that's far fetched, but then I remembered who the owner is.

Lane Johnson's Eagles' salary for 2022 now guaranteed

The Eagles may or may not need Lane Johnson to once again restructure his contract, but he’ll definitely be on someone’s roster in 2022, as his salary for next season becomes fully guaranteed at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

The third day of the new league year was the deadline for roster and option bonuses around the NFL to be paid out.

Former Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz logged a $10 million roster bonus on Friday and thanks to his contract language, Johnson will receive a $4 million option that has to be exercised between this past Wednesday and Sunday, while $7 million of his 2022 salary will be fully guaranteed as well.

In 2021, Johnson will earn a base salary of $9,565,000, a signing bonus of $4,000,000, and a workout bonus of $150,000, while carrying a cap hit of $17,848,500 and a dead cap value of $46,002,500.

His dead cap value shrinks to $28,303,996, with a cap saving of $14,238,998 if Johnson is a post-June cut next summer per Over The Cap.

Yeah suck it Ohio state!

How does a team with 9 losses get a number 2 seed to begin with?

Colts tweak Carson Wentz’s $10 million roster bonus

Quarterback Carson Wentz‘s first week as an official member of the Colts will include a tweak to his contract.

Wentz was set to receive a $10 million roster bonus on Friday, but Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that he and the team have restructured how and when that money will be doled out.

The bonus will be split in half with $5 million paid out now and $5 million paid out next season. With $15 million of his $22 million salary for 2022 becoming guaranteed on Friday, chances are Wentz will still be around when it comes time to pay out th second half of that bonus.

With guard Quenton Nelson and linebacker Darius Leonard eligible for extensions, we’ll see if moving Wentz’s money around is followed by word of deals for either of those players.

Given he is the next Drew Brees, worth it!

Kirk Cousins makes another $35 million today

Few NFL players have worked the system to their advantage better than Kirk Cousins.

The 2012 fourth-round pick, taken by Washington in the same draft that resulted in three first-round picks and a second-round pick being used to get Robert Griffin III, played out a pair of franchise tags in 2016 and 2017, earning $19.95 million and $23.94 million, respectively, before becoming a free agent.

He signed a three-year, $84 million contract with the Vikings in 2018, with a two-year, $66 million extension added in 2020. That extension includes a $35 million base salary for 2022 that, as of today, becomes fully guaranteed.

Cousins explained last month on PFT PM that he’s content to finish his current contract with the Vikings, with another extension or restructuring. Given the dynamics of the franchise tag (he’d be entitled to a 44-percent raise over his $45 million cap number in 2022), the Vikings won’t be able to keep him from walking away in 2023.

That’s possibly when he’ll reunite with Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco.

Wherever Cousins goes in 2023, he will have made $193.89 million over seven years. As of today, the last portion of it — $35 million in 2022 — becomes fully and completely guaranteed.

Bad news for the "Cut Barnett" folk

Derek Barnett's $10 million salary with the Eagles for 2021 is now fully guaranteed

This actually happened Wednesday, but I missed it because, screw you.

I was a "cut Barnett" guy and for two reasons: 1. It was a quick and simple way to free up $10m, and 2. It didn't involve punting cap hits down the road.

The lawyer that represents all these women seems like a real stand up fella

Believe women, you pig

I'm not saying I believe one person over the another - just that the dude representing them all seems scummy AF.  I'm sure these will all end up settled out of court.  Also - how many massages does one man need?
