I'm getting a good feeling about this season. There is nothing on the front page of the NFL about the Eagles. I watched a highlight video of the best plays of the weekend, not one Eagles play made the list.

I like it.

Sewage bursting out of pipes in the fans, sewage on the field….. can’t say I blame them

So I guess the Panthers are doing this now

Ghey

I'll bet the NFL is salivating over tonight's marquee Giants/Skins matchup.   And to think that they scheduled it.

"They may be two sub-.500 teams from last year, but one was a division winner and the other finished one game back!"

-An NFL Scheduler Person..... probably.

You got the lead and the ball with 3 minutes left. You got a promising young RB who has had several runs over 10 yards. Your QB is an UDFA making just his 3rd start. What do you do?

Try to drink and dunk apparently. Good job Washington  You deserve this L

And the giants STILL find a way to blow it

I took Washington in Last Fan Standing.  This is why I’m the worst at survivor pools :D

Lulz Giants.

I fell asleep with about 30-40 seconds to go. What a great surprise to wake up to.

I think I picked Washington for some unknown reason in the Pick Em. I figured it's because the Giants still blow and Washington had a decent enough defense.

I love how bad the giants are

marquee? Thursday Night has been the league's throwaway matchup of the week for as many years as they've had it. 2020 just randomly happened to be the first year where the majority of the Thursday games turned out to be very watchable and competitive matchups.

Doesn't make any sense to create primetime Thursday night football for a throwaway game.  Why are your takes always so bad?  Is it on purpose?

Bro what crack have you been smoking? I commented on Thursday games being trash because its a well known fact, but due to your response I typed thursday night football into the google machine and its nothing but a decades worth of articles highlighting how trash Thursday night has always been

So what’s wrong with Thursday Night Football?  It’s still possible that it’s simply the luck of the draw, and that these games would have been snoozers on a Sunday, too.  With anywhere from 10 to 13 other games played on every given Sunday, bad games don’t stand out the same way they do when there’s only one game to watch, to discuss, to debate, and ultimately to criticize.

I am really, truly trying to find reasons for why Thursday Night Football exists, but I'm coming up empty. It's like going fishing in a septic tank. There is literally nothing redeemable about the Thursday night game, and I am here to tell you why I am so outraged about its existence:

  • The scheduled games are usually horrific. Look at the 12-inch sub of despair coming up: Jets-Broncos, 49ers-Ravens, Eagles-Seahawks (Only taking place due to the allure of having two teams with bird names play each other), Browns-Steelers, Jaguars-Falcons, Cowboys-Buccaneers, Texans-Colts.

The only game that will interest the general public at all will be the 49ers-Ravens game, and even that will probably be a massive disappointment once you remember that Joe Flacco or Alex Smith could self-implode at any moment. The schedule for the Thursday Night games are generally horrible, the throwaway games of the NFL season. When there is mediocre football being played, you know the NFL Network will be covering it.

Yeah - none of what you posted means that they created Thursday night football just to have a night of **** football.  What it does mean is that because it's the only game on, all the negatives simply are highlighted more.  With that being said, the ratings are probably still through the roof because it's the only game on, so whether the games suck or not is irrelevant.

The Thursday games are generally extra crappy because of the short week.

The reason they run with it is because of the advertising dollars. Otherwise the games are designed to give national exposure to all teams and so they can give teams a second 'bye'

Another reason they keep pushing garbage matchups on Thursday night. When it’s the only show in town everyone is tuning in (fantasy, gambling). This game is on a 1pm Sunday slot and it’s maybe the 5th most viewed game.

Sweat signed a 3 year 40 million dollar extension. That seems like a lot

Might not seem so bad after this year though... At least that's what they are hoping.

Young guy that looks promising locked up before they hit FA.  Is Banner back in the FO?

2018 draft was definitely a hit

Dallas, Maddox, Sweat, Mailata, and got a 6th back for Pryor

someone should give them a history lesson

Hopefully Goedert is the next extension

Game day. At home. Against a much better team than last week. Underdogs.

I'm comfotable with that. Please let our defense be good this season. All season.
