Think you have to draft to a QB to compete with Hurts

Then one or two secondary players, or a D Line

Compete?  Seems like we need a quarterback all together.

Maybe a coach. Lol

That was fun.

Tfw it’s a run-pass option play and Hurts throws the ball when a lineman is already 10 yards downfield

1-6?

Man, how bad are the Falcons?

Cowboys running backs had 20 carries for 115 yards before Sirianni called a running play.

i hate football

I go back to how apprehensive we were before the Falcons game, where there was an underlying fear that we might be bad this year, but then the Falcons game happened and we thought a lot better of ourselves.  I guess the Falcons were horrible, and that makes the Giants worse.

Why would be need to? You act like he’s not a former WR coach who is leading a team that has an all-star quarterback and  top team receiving talent.

Classic trap game. Obviously looking ahead to next week

Who game plans for 3 running plays?  That ish better not be coming from the top!  Guess we'll find out how bad this coaching staff and ownership really is in the upcoming weeks.  At this point, you really can't blame the players other than the excessive penalties!!!!    Not impressed w/Nick at all.  He's better suited for high school level after that abysmal showing.

The last two weeks have been a mess.

The offense was a complete sheet show and straight out of the Andy Reid playbook of running the ball. Considering the D was on the field so much I think they held up okay other than the walking penalty known as Barnett.

I was really impressed by Hurts week 1. Not so much the last fortnight. I'm questioning if he has the arm strength to make it in the NFL as a long term starter. The low IQ plays can be put down to inexperience, but he doesn't have the arm to push the ball down field or have the zip for the out routes. He wasn't helped by the playcalling and lack of run game to bail him out

He tried under center play action....without ever running the ball or going under center.  With Andre Dillard at LT

you guys all knew the eagles were gonna stink this season, right?

Hurts is a backup - nothing more.  What do you do when you have a mediocre QB and an above average RB?  Maybe run the ball?

I'm also going to add to my previous post that the MNF commentary was the worst I've heard. I normally work when MNF is on so I haven't really watched since Gruden unless the Eagles are on. It took me about 5 minutes to regret not recording the Manning Bros version and not the Cowboy D guzzling competition on the main call. I almost threw something at my TV when they started talking about how it 'felt like a Touchdown'. Unlike Hurts, I would have hit the target.

I know this wasn't the point of the post, but I feel Dillard held up okay. Well at least much better than I expected.

Yup. Although I think expectations changed after they beat the sheety Falcons since they looked pretty good in that game.

I argued with 2 guys at work before the regular season started that we were going to be terrible and we are in cap hell.  They both felt optimistic.. and I was like, based on what??  Of course they were feeling great after the first game and crowing about how we have this amazing young team.. and I was like, um I think the Falcons are really bad, but who knows.... yep.  Always the safest to be a Negadelphian.

I'm not ready to give up on Hurts yet - this is basically his rookie season.  With a rookie head coach.  I'm tired of hearing about arm strength, etc.  There's tons of QBs who have had cannons that sucked as well.

You can be a terrible quarterback even if you have arm strength.. accuracy, decision making, timing etc. are all important.  But can you really be a great QB if you don't have it?

Like I said last night.. this refusal to run the football has been a theme through multiple coaching staffs.  It feels like Nick was hired to do things a "certain way" and he's too young and inexperienced to argue with the top.  How much of this is about making Howie's sheety draft picks look decent?

You still need to be able to push the ball down the field to keep the defense honest. 7 starts isn't a huge sample size, but with what we've seen so far he hasn't shown the ability to make those throws.

The Dolphins are in the exact same boat with Tua

Jalen Hurts

The most surprising data on Hurts comes with the ball-tracking figures recorded. Among all quarterbacks at the Senior Bowl, Hurts had the best average initial air speed, which measures the speed of the ball coming out of his hands on the first two days of practice. He also had the highest average ball speed, average distance, and recorded the longest pass during the week.

Most scouting reports suggest Hurts’ arm strength is adequate, but few would suggest the Oklahoma quarterback’s arm talent is elite. Still, his 47.5 mph average was the fastest recorded at the Senior Bowl in the last two years when tracking was available. Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, often praised for his arm strength, was clocked at 43.1 mph.

Hurts’ air speed most closely matches Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield, who were both recorded at 47.1 mph, and Eagles’ practice squad quarterback Kyle Lauletta, who was clocked at 47.4 mph.

What happened to the crossing and rub routes we ran week one? It was so nice to see us run them after getting beat by them so many times

He did have over 300+ yards didn't he?  It's not him, it's the coaching, and I hope they don't get him killed running around out there like that.  It was another loss to the boys, even though yeah, I didn't expect much this season, it's just you  know, Dallas sucks!   THEN your head coach sings his praises to the opposing QB in the post game presser!!!!
