Gardner Nick Super Folezzzz! Minshew!

Can we manage the rare feat of losing to the Giants, and the Jets, in back to back weeks?

Minshew might not give this job back up.

His record doesn't tell the whole story if you look at his stats.

Too bad Minshew can't play defense too

Defense looks really sharp against this top-notch offense.

The smart player starts their bye week early

In addition to great hands, Reagor makes good decisions.

It's the Fing Jets

Kelce. Oh no.

Joe Banner: Russell Wilson’s recent struggles aside, Eagles should still have interest if he’s available this offseason - Inquirer
EJ: We saw Russell Wilson continue to struggle on Monday Night Football. Do you think his recent play has affected the Eagles’ potential interest in trading for him? [...] JB: I’m a big fan of his, and I recognize he’s not playing well right now. I think, if he’s available, they’d be very interested and they should be. If they get him, assuming they can fix this line, I think they’d do very, very well with him. If that opportunity presents itself, I think they’d be aggressive and I think they should be doing that.

No.

We'll give up all the draft picks leaving nothing to shore up a defense so an aging QB has to constantly play catch up on the score board and is constantly turning the ball over to match the opponents score. Use the picks on the d-middle & corners and stick to the run/smash mouth football that had us dictating the games (before vagiants).

QB controversy!

Minshew was fine - he was accurate, albeit with lots of screens, checkdowns and short crossers.  He didn't do anything that blew me away - he certainly isn't the next Montana like some of the TATErs that hate Hurts seem to think.  He's tiny though - I didn't realize how small he was.

In other news, I can't believe Sanders got hurt.  He's normally so hardy.

He's like Embiid, but without the physical gifts or talent

Minshew might have less arm than Chad Pennington.  I knew he didn't have a good arm but didn't know it was that weak.  That being said he's a better passer than Hurts just because of the fact he can go through progressions in the pocket.  Hurts just makes the first read and runs circles in the pocket like a dog chasing it's tail.

The question is, can Hurts improve in that aspect?  I think he can.  If he can learn to trust the pocket and go through his progressions, and also clean up the mechanics on his deep throws, he'll be fine.  I think they're going to give him next year as well, and if he doesn't make strides as a pure passer, they'll trade for a QB or try to draft one next year.  Who knows though, they may try to trade for Watson or Wilson this offseason.

I don't think either Hurts or Minshew are the future.  I wanted Hurts to be it, but you can't win against good football teams with his chaotic and erratic style of play.  I really haven't seen any progress in him becoming a functional pocket passer.  He lives on broken plays.  In his case a broken play is any one in which his first read is covered clean pocket or not.  Minshew...defenses will just crowd the LOS because he doesn't have the arm to throw it more than 20 yards.

You're probably right, but I still think they will give him every opportunity to become the franchise until his rookie contract runs out.

Maybe they can focus on creating an NFL-level back seven on defense in the meantime, and find a big, physical WR to pair with Smith.

stache was great for goedert on my fantasy team.

he's just a backup talent though, imo. idk what the hell hurts is.

I hate to make the comparison but he kinda reminds me of Dak - when Dak first came in he was a one read and run type of guy, and was successful because of a good O-line and running game.  Now he's a legit NFL passer.  I think that's what you have to hope for Hurts to become.

idk if hurts will ever become a dak caliber passer. he just doesn't seem to see the field well. we'll see if they give him a chance to become that guy...or if they decide to mortage the future for russ this offseason.

Minshew is Bridgewater and I would prefer him as a stand in at QB while they build around the rest of the team then start of 2024 season they go get a QB.

Hurts ran a 4.5 40 time so he knows he can out run any DE and relies on it way too much. He was improving at standing in the pocket prior to the Giants game but then saw a step back.
