They were to try and counteract the blitz. They kept sending their slot and those screens were right at his man, made them pull up and allowed those long plays to develop. Unfortunately this team hasn't been a good screen team in a long time but the calls made sense.

The QB draw resulted in the TD. It's something they ran well last year in the redzone but has sucked this year. Pulling Kelce worked well on those plays and Hurts picked up chunks. Also a nice play when they send as many guys from the edge if the interior guys hold their blocks but they couldn't.

I think it might have been the right adjustments on the playcalls but it's something they can't execute consistently right now

everyone keeps saying they havent played their best ball yet, well when the heck is it gonna happen?  the playcalling isnt there, the execution from the offense isnt there, I mean they are struggling to do handoffs, hurts is slow as melting butter, the Oline shouldnt be struggling to pass protect against blitzes everytime, but they win, but they got a lot of chiefs help last night, can you imagine mahomes with either smith or brown as a reciever?

the halftime adjustments the defense has made throughout this season so far can't be overstated.

I agree. I think the problem has more to do with basic execution on a lot of these plays than it does the actual play call. There were several times last night, at least one of which Aikman pointed out on replay, where Kelce identified the pressure and slid protection the right direction so we had the numbers to make the blocks but still just missed a man and let a free rusher on Hurts. That’s not on play call it is just execution. Which still comes down to coaching. And I don’t get that part because our Oline should be great.

No team is going to be perfect, they will all have their flaws and weaknesses.

One thing being looked over is the Chiefs D is elite this year. They were coming into the game allowing 15.8 ppg. They're currently 3rd with an average of 16.4 with only the 49'ers (15.7) and Ravens (16.1) allowing fewer points. They scored 5 points above average against this D. They are a middle of the road offense and they also held them to 5.5 points under their season average. Hurts played like a** yet still found a way to come up clutch in the key moments that he needed to and it was enough to win.

The line has been banged up on the right side, Jurgens just returned from injury, Lane was supposed to miss extended time and played the next week. Kelce could also be struggling with an injury but the dude is a warrior and will keep playing. Sometimes guys just lose one on one and the Chiefs D is a pretty good one. The 49'ers game will be interesting with how much they have invested in their line at the trade deadline

I have no idea how they won this but that was fricken amazing. Hurts found a way to make some plays and the D held up well forcing timely turnovers

I’m sad AJ didn't get his forced fumble stat

This is the cutest thing ever. Especially 5:30 and 6:35ish marks

Waived Barnett. Does that mean we're going to make a run at Shaq Leonard?

Heading over to cowboyszone forums now to see two things:

2. the biggest brass balls in the NFL

No Lane=no way for eagles,  Driscoll is bad, L today

Three run for his life throwaways. Good game plan.

D will have to win this one, its crazy how important Lane is to this offense, discoll is hot trash, next thing theyll throw screens to watkins

What a surprise, no running plays on the opening drive. 👎
