Bad to disaster

Brilliant play from Baun to turn Kamara

Siri needs his a** handed to him in the press conference no matter what happens.

What TF is with Hurtz not throwing to Dallas. I thought in the first half he was over it but I guess not.

Am I seeing things or did that Saints player come in late and hit Smith when he was on the ground?

Dove for the ball on the replay but ugly regardless

Huge TD for Barkley!

Nick cannot make a single right decision

Is the block that goes deep out of bounds is continuation from the live play, I don’t like that being called a dead ball foul. That should be 15 yards added to 3rd down

Defense always falling apart at the end of games. A turnover would be nice.

It's dead ball because the foul occurred after the completion of the down.  It's not in relation to the overall play, it's when the foul has occurred in relation to the action of the ball.  If If the ball is downed, then it's a dead ball.

Feed Barkley here

TD! Now they have to go for 2

Bro, can you post about how Dua Lipa is gonna crash through my ceiling or maybe the lottery numbers tonight?

Usually the "late hit” happens after the play when players have not already been engaged with one another. Like a guy seeing someone away from the play and taking a free shot. I’m not used to seeing where guys are tangled well before the play ends (or the yardage is gained) and commit a penalty during that existing entanglement.

That looks like game. The D showed up big time

Win because of the blitz.

The infraction occurred while the ball was down, therefore it's a dead ball.  If the ball was not downed, then it's not a dead ball foul.

Rule 7 Section 2 Article 1 E.  As soon as the runner is out of bounds, the ball immediately becomes dead, therefore any penalty after this point is a dead ball foul.

Woohoo!! Never doubted them for a second. My in-laws were there. paco’s dad recently beat cancer - so glad they got to see the win. Notice the tattoo on his calf.

Who dat?

It was like a disaster and a joyous day for the D, Goedert and Barkley.  Only a Philly fan would understand.  Here’s hoping the coaching staff and the talent will find a way to get it together.

We did have an illegal formation and a 12 men on the field called which is absolutely inexcusable to me.  I think luck was on our side this afternoon.  I’ll take the W.

Post game thoughts

The defense was amazing in this game. The Saints ripped apart the Cowboys in Dallas the week prior. To hold them to basically a FG for 3 quarters in New Orleans was phenomenal. They held up well in the redzone again and made some adjustments from the previous week to limit the run game. Carter was a monster, Mitchell looks like a legit player and Baun has been a bargain find that's turned into an impact linebacker. They had a couple of these performances last year so if they can do it again against the Bucs proves it wasn't a fluke.

Hurts needs to find a way to cut down on the turnovers. That is his achillies heel right now, he has looked pretty good and then has a boneheaded turnover.

Sirianni had some more than questionable decision making. I agreed with the aggressive call the previous week on 3rd down to pass the ball, but this week there were some head scratchers. The one that made 0 sense was just before HT. You have 2 back up olineman in (that held up well) and 14 seconds left on the clock with one time out. Even if you do convert, you maybe get 1 shot at the endzone and then kick the FG anyway. Take the 3 there, tie the game and then get the ball back at the start of the half. The second one was frustrating because they left the points on the field earlier and were staring down a goose egg and behind only a FG. You take the points and it's a tied game when you haven't had much luck scoring prior to that. I think if they kicked the FG the first time, the second one would have made a bit more sense with the way the D was playing. I think most of us would have faith in Elliott to hit a long FG with the game on the line, it is in a dome so there isn't any wind, going with the 60 yard bomb was probably worth the risk with how the D had been shutting them out. it's a pretty big risk being only one point in front, giving them a short field and the potential for it to back fire spectacularly (which it nearly did)

The back up linemen were amazing. Steen and Johnson both played really well and look like they belong at NFL level after that performance.

Barkley has been a problem for opposition teams and is the best back this team has had since Shady. He can do it all and Howie deserves some props for making it happen.

Goedert had the kind of game most of us have been wanting to see for a while. He has all the tools but has never really put it together for an extended period. He made some clutch plays.

They need to clean up the penalties. They had a couple of really poor ones like the 12 men in the huddle which killed the drive.
