Load up on draft capital and attempt to fix the absolutely horrific salary cap situation at the same time. Literally was just texting this to my one buddy. We need to sell off and get draft picks NOW. Our effective cap space next year is 71 million OVER. And the dirty secret is, its worse than that. For example: if Kelce calls it a career after this year, you can add another 10 million to that. (I've been meaning to put together a list of all of the contracts we have with fake years built in. There are more than you think) The team is old, the contracts are bloated and we need to blow it up and start fresh. 2021 and 2022 will be painful regardless if they try to do a full rebuild.

Below are all of the "fake years" and the dead cap hit for each player. Note that the entirety of the dead cap hit takes place on the first of the fake years (it is not spread out) Fletcher Cox - Fake year in 2023. $3.6 million Alshon Jeffery - Two fake years starting 2022. $5 million Zach Ertz - Two fake years starting 2022. $3.5 million Lane Johnson - Three fake years starting in 2026. $1.2 million DeSean Jackson - Two fake years starting 2022. $3.86 million Jason Kelce - Three fake years starting in 2022. $7.2 million Brandon Graham - Three fake years starting in 2022. $12.2 million Malik Jackson - Three fake years starting in 2022. $9 million Darius Slay - Two fake years starting 2022. $2.5 million Javon Hargrave - Two fake years starting 2023. $5 million Rodney McLeod - Three fake years starting in 2022. $1.8 million Isaac Seumalo - Two fake years starting 2023. $2 million What does this mean? Well, assuming 1) everyone lives out their contract and 2) there is no further restructuring, in 2022 we are looking at a $45 MILLION DOLLAR DEAD CAP HIT. CAP GENIUS

September 21, 20205 yr Author I think we do have a coaching problem. We need a new defensive philosophy. It's embarrassing right now. Doug needs to allow someone to be the OC. Hes not the Head Coach if he's constantly worried about playcalls. Also, he sucks at it. The scheme is basic and obvious.
September 21, 20205 yr Author There's no adjustments. There's no creativity. Carson was better off with a real QB coach. Not a buddy.

I wonder if they will keep this going once they fall back down toward the bottom (with us). You know, if not after this week, after they lose to the browns this Sunday. Already removed

September 22, 20205 yr The Defense is really lousy and predictable. 4-3, wide 9, Safeties up high, disguise nothing. Maybe they will get better as the season progresses. I fear it will be too late though. Once Sanders fumbled in the 1st quarter, I said.....thats it, the 2020 NFL season doesn't count.
September 22, 20205 yr I was super excited about having a bunch of so-called "positionless DBs" in the secondary that can play most of the roles in the secondary (Parks, Mills, Maddox). In my opinion, that's the future of the league since these high flying offenses are so difficult to stop. The creativity and disguise that you should be able to utilize as a defensive coordinator should give offenses fits. Instead, we have the most vanilla defensive scheme in the world, and these "positionless DBs" are completely worthless with Schwartz.
September 23, 20205 yr Reagor torn UCL in his thumb I stand by winning at the end of last season was just dumb and lost out on Lamb

In many ways I think we were dazzled by his athleticism and it hid a lot of it that this is now just becoming very obvious. What's worse..... R-words fans were trying to say "oh boy, he's the next RGIII" when he shredded his knee in 2017. My comback was always "No, he can read a defense". The last two games are making me question some of it. I'm really hoping this is just rust from not having a proper TC\PS

The last two games are making me question some of it. I'm really hoping this is just rust from not having a proper TC\PS He can read a defense, he is just so streaky with his throws that he can hit everything including the impossible on one drive and then miss the easiest throws on the next one. The positive to come out of the videos is that he is making the right reads and decisions, he is just incapable of hitting them. The negative is this has been an issue since he tore his knee up, why in the last three seasons has he not improved his mechanics? Is it on Carson or the coaches? Is it that he has been rehabbing injuries in the offseason and the one where he was healthy you have virtual meetings with Covid?
