I'm just thinking of the Giants game last year where both Brown and Hurts ended up with injuries in a game that essentially didn't matter

Sit him, you don't risk getting injuries in a meaningless game when they have bigger aspirations as a team of winning the Super Bowl.

I don't think the record matters anyway. Dickerson did it in one fewer game.

It's not just the risk of injury but the mileage on a RB that we'll need for four more games.

Sit his ass.

When Dickerson got the record he did it with 34 more carries.  You can throw the games played stat out the window when comparing them.

Saquon is the reason we are so good this year. Dude is spring boarding himself backwards over defenders and carrying our offense. Who of us doesn’t have that moment on an ornament or a t shirt or in some meme at this point. Even helping the defense by giving them a few minutes to breathe. It’s not just a record for him it’s a record for the Eagles, for us as fans, for the city and the organization. He breaks this record he should also be awarded MVP which we haven’t had since 1960. And wasn’t that our only MVP? Sorry not sorry but I want them to go for it all. The record, the MVP AND the Super Bowl. This has been an iconic season because of Saquon. Since when do we roll over and play scared as Philadelphia fans? Be aggressive, go for it all, and take that momentum into the post.

So ypg with minimum carries and Saquon already has him beat

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get it. I am worried that even healthy we won’t make it out of the first round. That’s another reason I say go for it though. Believing you are great is half the battle. Beating a record that has held since I was 6 goes a long way to proving greatness. It’s a really big deal and I think Saquon has earned the right to try. But I do get the counter argument.

I get both sides and am good with them going either way. I want to see him get the record, but at the same time the O line could really use a rest. I think Lane already said he wanted 2,000 but wants to rest before the playoffs. So I’d leave it up to Saquon and the line.

He’s not playing

Ha!

I was right.

Let this be a lesson to you.

Always listen to men.

Am I in trouble?

I’m no fan of signing Wickett, but how funny would it be if both Saquon and Elliott finally won a Super Bowl, but with us? :Eagle_smiley:

Any chance he is Zeke from 6 years ago? Otherwise, Eziekiel from Lancaster County might be a better option.

It has less to do about ypg and more to do with putting "He played one more game" in context.  Todays game is much different and two factors will make it difficult for that record to be broken: It's much more of a passing league now and running backs split carries more than ever.

Honestly, if Saquon wasn't pulled last week after he hit 2k AND if he didn't let "the young guys eat" in week 7, he might already be there, if not REALLY close.

We’re the best running team in NFL history, easily. The irony is that Nick absolutely, positively, doesn’t even want to be a running team.

We shouldn't give a damn if they carry the ball in a helmet as long as they win.

Only real fans show up to a Fing freezing meaningless game like this. Real idiot fans. It’s COLDER THAN A MOTHER FLOCKER OUT HERE.

Weather app says 31° you sissies! We’re showing 8° with a feels like minus five (-5°) and I didn’t even zip up my coat (with a tee shirt on underneath) walking out to the car and back from brunch to grab the gift card I forgot in my center console!

Sorry but I’m not wearing all the layers you are Agent!

I'm sure Tanner would be happy to stay after practice to help Jalen with the passing scheme if he asked nicely. :Eagle_smiley:
