And we ain't getting him. Not a Fields fan really, and I don't know anything about the Wilson kid. And HELL NO to another North Dakota QB we should draft that chick from clemson!
February 19, 20214 yr The Eagles will take a $33.8 million dead-cap hit -- the largest dead-cap hit that any team ever has taken for a player Nice. This is Howie do it.
February 19, 20214 yr Quote Shefty reports Wentz and Pederson didn't speak for 10 weeks last season Prior to benching, Wentz and Pederson didn't speak for months. Wentz skipped meetings and refused to work with Pederson due to Eagles drafting Hurts. https://975thefanatic.com/2021/02/19/adam-schefter-breaks-down-how-the-wentz-deal-came-together/

I guess he didn't just cut him outright, which we've been known to do, but it's pretty obvious that Wentz was not going to ever agree to come back and play for us again, and it was either get what we could, or get nothing.
February 20, 20214 yr Was wondering how we were looking cap wise now post DJax. Spotrac has us at $37.3 million over after the DJax cut. Assuming we designate post June cuts on Alshon ($5,590,735 in 2021 and $2,250,000 in 2022) and Malik Jackson ($3,611,000 in 2021 and $2,000,000 in 2022), that takes us to $33 million over. I think its also safe to assume Ertz is gone, either cut or traded, so that is another $4,702,000 "saved" putting us at $28.4 million over. Call me crazy, but Godwin (remember him?) is also gone. $4,281,250 (and no dead money ) saved getting us to $24.1 million over After that we enter the realm of tough cuts and restructures. Do you restructure Lane again even though he has been hobbled for the past few years? Do you restructure Cox who is clearly on the downside of his career? Do you cut one of your only young, highly drafted DE's in Barnett to save $10 million? Yay.

February 22, 20214 yr Carson's already losing the locker room Quote Mike WellsESPN Staff Writer INDIANAPOLIS -- Evidently no amount of money will get quarterback Carson Wentz his No. 11 jersey with his new team, the Indianapolis Colts. Colts second-year receiver Michael Pittman Jr., who currently wears No. 11, says he has talked to Wentz about the number, and the answer is no on a possible switch. "I am number 11," Pittman Jr. told TMZ Sports. "... I don't think there's any deal that is gonna be done." It's not uncommon for players on new teams to try and buy their preferred jersey number for a large amount of money from one of their teammates. The Colts agreed to acquire Wentz to be their new starting quarterback from the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2021 third-round pick and 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-round pick on Feb. 18. Wentz wore No. 11 while at North Dakota State University and during his first five years with the Eagles. "Yeah, so I spoke to [Carson] and he was just seeing how locked in I was to No. 11, and I told him I was locked in -- and he was like, 'That's cool, bro, because I'm probably gonna switch anyway,'" Pittman Jr. told TMZ Sports. "... He asked me very respectfully, and I just appreciated him for that. I think he's a great dude, because lots of guys with his status, they would come in and demand and stuff like that." Pittman Jr. wore No. 86 in college at USC, but switched to No. 11 after being drafted by the Colts.

Just good enough to not get benched but poor enough that the colts miss the playoffs but Carson gets his 75% of snaps in.

Two first rounders next year so could move up in the draft if Hurts doesn't pan out and they like a guy.

February 23, 20214 yr Let's offer our first this year and next year, plus the conditional 2nd from Indy and go get Russ!

They are going to have a tough time getting under the cap without cutting Barnett. $10m saved and zero dead money. It's a no brainer (even though our DE position sucks). They'd save $16m this year by designating Fletcher Cox as a post-June 1 cut.
