I didn't follow everything that closely but I think he requested to have his account deleted after he was reinstated from being banned/suspended. That came on the heels of two other guys being banned followed by this big commotion over why the mods were banning people on the eve of the super bowl. Then later some other dudes got banned and things spiraled even more, which I think is when he called it quits. I might have the timeline wrong, but there's a huge thread about some of it in rant and rave if you want to carelessly throw away a few hours of your life.
