10 would have been a bit high for me but I wouldn’t have minded trading back a few spots from 10 and taking Smith in the 15-20 range if they couldn’t get Carter. But yeah to get both of this guys is unreal.

30 is around where he should have always went IMO. People got overly hype off of the underwear Olympics performance and pushed him up way too high. Hope he performs like a top 10 guy though.

His mom had some outfit on her lol

Now we aren’t stuck to paying Reddick a massive contract after his current deal expires. He’ll be groomed under Reddick and slide right in on his rookie deal when the time comes.

god our (young) pass rush is going to be really fun to watch…

GG Dak and Daniel ✌️

It's from the greatest Defense in College Football history, and that's not hyperbole.

EXACTLY right.

If you look back at that season, they got lit up by Alabama one game. The rest of the season, they gave up like 2 legit TDs. The rest were special teams, garbage time, or a defensive TD. I don't think it was talked about enough how great that defense was.

So Nolan was announced as a LB does that mean drought of not drafting a lb in whatever crazy amount of years in the first round is finally over?

I was wondering that too.  Sometimes he's listed as EDGE, NBC Sports live called him a DE, sometimes he's listed as OLB.

in the past i thought the team selecting him usually listed the tweeners in the position they thought they would play… I’m gonna off of Momma Kelce when she announced the push she said from the card Nolan Smith LB Georgia

The funny thing about Nolan is that his role at Georgia was to set the edge and use his quickness to fill running lanes; and he did that very well despite a playing weight of around 235-240. They have set roles at Georgia and his role wasn't really to go after the QB very much at all. By contrast if he switched teams with Will Anderson who size-wise isn't really that much bigger ... his role at Bama would have been much more as a pass rusher and likely would have been a double-digit Sack guy. It would not shock me at all if Nolan Smith ends up as a better Sack guy at the pro level than Will Anderson who's a really good overall End, but benefitted greatly on his Sack totals due to the scheme/role at Bama.

I thought he was a reach at 10 and was better suited to be drafted in the mid teens. I honestly never thought he would be available after 20. There is just too much upside and athletic ability not to love this pick at 30. I'm really interested to see how they use him though. I know everyone says he is an edge rusher but as athletic and good against the run as he is I could see him being used as an off ball LB as well.

Thank Detroit. They went with a Off LB and a RB way too high and that certainly helped the drop to us :) We should grab Swift from them.

Need some guys from LSU for the L :)

He'll be a joker type player.  Line him up anywhere.  Going to have to find him because he will get to the QB like a rocket ship.  A Patricia special here.  And he plays really hard too a la BG.  Eagles are blessed.  Hoping for MP II here.

Yes, he has both a good run stop rate and pressure rate.
