Well from what Ive seen on tv, read there has been a lot more give from the NFL and the owners then the players. Players don't seam to be willing to give on anything.

Seems like they are in the same position as baseball

Ditto, but I have a bad feeling they try to get things started, and either outbreaks around the country shut it all down due to competitive imbalance, or they get things started, last a few weeks, and then go the way the rest of sports went earlier this year.

I think a huge cluster F is coming one way or another.

Well, it would be nice to see the draft picks in at least one game or two.

We keep hearing how the cap is dropping next season so the players are giving on something.

Funny how anyone who doesn't simply just accept what we're being fed is labeled as a "conspiracy theorist".  By your logic, then you would fall under the "sheep" category.  Is that accurate for you?  If not, then why would the conspiracy theorist label be accurate for me?  Because I disagree with your sentiment?

Because what you and the rest of the 'masks and shut downs aw hell no!' is arguing against is science and for the trumped up no risk disease designed to affect an election to work would require the connivance of myriad agencies both domestic and global, it's literally the dictionary definition of conspiracy theory.

If we could just let the people who don't believe that the virus is deadly run around without masks and just let all of the high risk overweight, hypertensive, asthmatic and plain old among them drown in their own snot then frankly I wouldn't have an issue with it, but you present infection risks to everyone who is trying to listen to the science and protect themselves and the healthcare staff that have to treat them, and all because they read something on the internet and think it's a comparable scientific argument which makes you a free thinker.

It's like climate change denial, even if the sceptics are right and climate change is bunk, finding alternative energy sources to fossil fuels is objectively a very good idea and something we have to do eventually anyway, but if the sceptics turn out to be horses arses who persuaded people in power to not change quick enough, most of the planet will be uninhabitable, the risks of the two approaches aren't equal.

NEWEST UPDATE FROM EAGLES

We hope you and your family are safe and healthy. Since you elected not to opt-out of the 2020 season, we want to provide you an update regarding our plans for the 2020 season. As you know, your health and safety are a priority for us and we are working through a variety of scenarios with guidance from the league, as well as federal (CDC), state and local officials. Those discussions are ongoing and we will continue to communicate with you as the season approaches and our plans take shape.

Games at Lincoln Financial Field will certainly have a different look and feel this season.  NFL guidelines require that we implement certain health and safety measures, including a requirement that all ticketholders and staff wear face masks. In addition, we must follow CDC guidelines, which requires us to implement social distancing within the seating bowl.  As a result, we are developing a variety of scenarios for a reduced-capacity seating configuration.  Furthermore, due to the current state and local government orders, we must also develop a plan under a scenario that does not include any fans.

In order to comply with all of the current government guidelines, we are unable to provide the specific seat location(s) that you use when Lincoln Financial Field is available at full capacity.  As such, we have disabled the season tickets on your account, including tickets that have been forwarded or resold, to allow us to create a new seating manifest. Please be assured all monies paid to date will remain as a credit on your account. If tickets are available within a modified seating configuration, you will be able to apply your credit toward any potential purchase of tickets.  In the event that games are played without fans, a refund or credit will be provided to you in accordance with our Refund Policy.

We appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times and will continue to update you as more information becomes available. As previously communicated, if you have concerns about attending games in person this season, you can opt-out of the 2020 season by completing the opt-out form found on the Eagles Account Manager.

For any questions or concerns, please contact our Season Ticket Member Services Team at 215-463-5500 or STM@philadelphiaeagles.com.

So, sounds like you "know" me huh?  You got all that from me based on...what...the couple of facts I presented?  Point out anything I stated in this thread that is proven wrong.  Seems you're lumping me into the conspiracy theorist group so I guess, just for my own amusement, I'll lump you into the sheep group.  Sound good?  Are you anxiously awaiting what the news says today so you know what to think?

You can view it however you need to...but for me, there has been a lot of info put out there in regards to positive case counts, death rates, the ways in which these numbers are counted, the facts about the virus, the fact that most people hate Trump (yes, if you don't think Covid has been politicized, you are BLIND), and other things I'm just not thinking of at this moment...and all this stuff has come from various sources.  The MSM only focuses on whatever generates the most views, fear and anger.  You HAVE to be a legitimate critical thinker, take in a ton of info and see the big picture.  Discern BS from truth and use some logic.

There are too many issues with this entire pandemic in the way in which it has been handled and reported on.  If you choose to believe the MSM because it's the easy thing to do and requires no effort of thinking on your part, then by all means, do what you gotta do.

Go Birds!

No preseason and reduced training camp rosters. Very likely there won't be any undrafted gems this season. They will need to work onto an active roster from practice squads after players go down due to injury or COVID.

It seems to me that no one wants to be the bad guy and are waiting on an "event" to blame it on.  It's a whole lot more palatable for the NFL and owners to pile it on Tom Wolf for banning organized events. Any state could do that and blow it up for all of them....i could see NY or California being the ones that kills the whole thing for the NFL.  Those two seem to be the least interested "life as normal" (whatever that is).

At this point I don't even care if there is a season...completely have lost interest.

Quite possibly the best post I have EVER read on EMB.  Well done, sir!

Saw on NFL Network re a player entering the team facilities.  He went thru a battery of testing and monitoring, etc.  Pretty comprehensive to my view.  I believe they have a gadget that each one can wear to alert the wearer that someone is within 6-ft of him/her.  Contact tracing is also possible if all parties are wearers within the building.  They could space out the work-out area in the weight room, or move some equipment outside for open-air workout.  What is not known yet is how they cover the nose/mouth in games.  With a helmet as a standard equipment, pretty sure they could add something creative to protect the air flow to player's face.  NFL teams have the resources to find and implement these protective measures.

The NFL tried already saying the players would have to wear face shields built into the helmet. The NFLPA fought it and won. Right now the NFLPA is holding up the finalized plan. Any thing that doesnt go the way they want they refuse. NFL in the end will give in to every demand they want to try and make any money.

Players are assets to the team and owner.  Pretty sure the owners don't want the players sick or lost to Covid.  If nothing can be agreed to, a cancelled season will do no good to anyone.

I am also but it's a lot of money being lost out on which is probably why it's taking so long

I do. I wish there was a season. Howie finally got Wentz some speed. It was going to be fun seeing his throw it deep all season

Cool story, bro.

According to the NFLPA, 12 rookies tested positive for COVID today.

New CBA agreed. Preseason games canceled. Camp will begin as usual. 16 man practice squads.

According NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, training camp is set to be comprised of 20 days of a ramp-up period and a maximum of 14 padded practices.

"The players wanted a full ramp up of about three weeks; the NFL offered 18 days," Rapoport said on NFL Network. "

Rosters must be trimmed down to 80 players by Aug. 16, according to Rapoport. No more than 80 players are allowed in the building at one time.

"Teams may have to have different shifts of players," Rapoport said. "Rookies and second-year guys, and then veterans."

"In the event that games are lost for whatever reason, players with guaranteed money in their contract will still receive their compensation, though that money would come later on, "either next year or in the next year that he is a free agent," Rapoport reported."

As you may have seen, the NFL notified teams tonight that all preseason games have officially been canceled for the 2020 season. We wanted to make you aware of this and how it would impact you as a Season Ticket Member.

As previously communicated, we have moved your season ticket payments to an account credit that is available for use toward the purchase of tickets for games where fans are permitted to attend.  We would like to offer you the option to receive a refund for payments made to any games, including preseason, as they are canceled or it is deemed that fans are unable to attend.  If you are interested in this option, please visit the Eagles Account Manager and complete the refund form.  We will issue refunds for the canceled preseason games to your original method of payment within 15 days of completing the form.  If you would like to keep all payments to date on your account, no action is required at this time.  Any unused credit at the end of the 2020 season will be rolled over to your 2021 invoice.

We will continue to communicate additional information regarding the 2020 season as it becomes available.  If at any time you would like to opt-out fully for the 2020 season, please reach out to our Fan Services department at 215-463-5500 or
