June 22, 20232 yr The french have deployed a robot to try to find it but visibility is supposedly limited to just 10m in front of the cameras, so basically like trying to find a needle in a hay stack down there.
June 22, 20232 yr Also fun fact, I remember James Cameron (of Titanic fame) saying that he only made the avatar movies to help fund his deep sea exploration dives. Wonder if this will make him rethink things or at the very least, scrutinize the vessels more closely.
June 22, 20232 yr Author Well if they died from an implosion at least that is better than basically being buried alive

Instantaneous death rather than drawn out suffering.

June 22, 20232 yr Apparently they confirmed the landing frame and rear cover were there. Press conference at 3.
June 22, 20232 yr More than likely it imploded when they lost contact. Which if you’re gonna die there are worse ways to go. Would be dead quicker than your nervous system would register it.

June 22, 20232 yr 18m ago / 3:39 PM EDT 5 major pieces of debris led to identification of Titan, officials say Marlene Lenthang Undersea expert Paul Hanken said five major different pieces of debris told authorities that it was the remains of the Titan. "The initial thing we found was the nose cone, which was outside the pressure hull. We then found a large debris field, within that large debris field we found the front end bell of the pressure hull. That was the first indication that there was a catastrophic event,” he said. A second, smaller debris field was also found, which included the other end of the pressure hull, "which basically comprised the totality of that pressure vessel,” Hanken said. Teams on site will continue to map the debris field on the ocean floor.

June 22, 20232 yr People in the press conference asking about efforts to recover the bodies, like there is no bodies, they became a red paste in less than a tenth of a second. If you look up the Byford Dolphin incident, that describes the effect of an explosive pressure change of 9 atmospheres and the guy that was by the door that failed was torn to pieces, the titan submersible was at pressures of 400 atmospheres, it's like having the weight of 35 adult elephants pressing on every inch of your body at once instantaneously.
June 22, 20232 yr I have to believe that the Navy or the CIA or the DIA or the NSA (of all of them), either knew or at the very least have the ability to know that this thing imploded and exactly when it did so. Because they have (or at least I believe they have), underwater listening devices that can track vessels (surface and sub-surface). If I'm not mistaken, they heard the Kursk implode/explode or whatever it was that happened to it when it went down. They may never come out with that information, because I'm sure it's highly classified, but I feel pretty sure that the information is there somewhere that can pinpoint exactly the time of implosion... which we basically know anyway, if it happened at the moment of signal loss.
