Was this the biggest Kennett police type action since Ancell Hamm?

Bigger.  It was mostly all State police and others.  Our local police in all their municipalities were mostly doing their jobs as usual. They were assisting as needed as far as I could tell.

Last Friday they were in every driveway and business on the road where I work.  I could have come in, they may have checked my car, but I chose to stay out of the way and worked from home that day.

Here's a link if any of you are interested in who Ancel Hamm was.  Most of you probably weren't born yet.  I was 11.

Kennett was a little rough and tumble town.  There was a bar (or 2) on every block on State St.  You may have heard of the Johnston gang or seen the movie At Close Range.

There were way less people here at the time. My neighbor was a cop, and it was a very scary and sad time.  They caught him pretty fast.

Several years ago, there was a Johnston gang member that escaped prison.  That was huge around here as well.  Not looking that up, but I think most all are dead now.

My mother and I would travel to Kennett Square to get her Yorkie Groomed. She got three Yorkies from there. The place was called something like Kennel of love or cup of love dog kennell. We always used to stop for lunch for a bowl of mushroom soup. Yum.

Yes, that’s the group. The movie is underrated and worth a look. Several big names in the cast.

You two want to reminisce about prohibition next?

So the son of the woman he killed attends the school that my buddy's wife works at.  She said he's a huge Star Wars fan and that Yoda is his favorite character....

"Experts" weighing in on the photo op.

I have no issue with this.  It might have been inappropriate if he was dead, and they took the pic.

Also heard that the home burglar alarm that went off which led police to this area was accidental.  Homeowner went out for a smoke.

"From a policing ethics point of view, a police officer taking a picture on the street and putting it on social media or doing it as a celebratory or retaliatory thing is not OK,” Wandt said. "As an attorney, it is an evidentiary problem being created here too. It's a dangerous practice for a police officer to create evidence on a scene and not properly turn it over to the prosecutor.”

The photo was in poor taste and not indicative of being a professional.

Bill I respect that and thank you for all you do and share with us.  Just saying this was quite an operation that we are not used to seeing in action and dealing with everyday.
In seeing this effort come to a satisfactory conclusion, I still have no issue with it.

I totally get you wouldn’t have done that.  But the sports  fan in you would of I think.
