We're missing Sweat and Williams on the defense, and Becton on the offense. Add in injuries to Dickerson and Johnson on the offense, and Carter on the defense. Not only is there a dropoff in starting talent, there's also a dropoff now in backup talent. Eagles traditionally have built along both lines as the strength of the team. Both lines are weaker - considerably so - and it shows on the field. This is the number one reason why the team is not as strong this year.

This season sure feels a whole lot like 2023 where we were winning early and got off to a great record (even though many of those wins didn't look pretty and really could have gone either way) and then the wheels completely fell off. From the looks of the lay of the land, Sirianni is walking a tightrope this season. If the team stinks it up with this roster and coaching staff, he's got problems. If the offense lights it up and Kellen Moore becomes a hot head coaching commodity, he's got problems.
