October 11, 20231 yr Looks like the Eisenhower strike group is heading to the Med. Its going to be interesting, that’s for sure.
October 11, 20231 yr Ok cool so the 3rd BCT of the 101st is heading to Jordan, and the Bataan ARG (with the 26th MEU) just cancelled it’s exercise in Kuwait and is underway to "prepare for future tasking due to emerging events”.
October 11, 20231 yr Author A very real possibility this thing isn't limited to Gaza. Quite natural for US forces to prepare for a wider event.

October 11, 20231 yr Israel is doing just want Hamas wants. Hamas doesn't care about the people of Gaza, either. The more civilians Israel kills, the stronger the Hamases of the world become.
October 11, 20231 yr Now come the conpsiracy theories, that Benjamin knew and allowed it to happen so he could take military action. Not good news for him. Egypt ‘warned Israel of Hamas attack three days before’ Egypt warned Israel three days before Hamas massacred hundreds of Israelis that the terrorist organisation was plotting an attack, a Republican congressman has said. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, said there had been a "failure of intelligence” ahead of the attack, which he said had been planned for up to a year. "We’re not quite sure how we missed it, I’m not quite sure how Israel missed it”, he told reporters following a closed-door intelligence briefing. "We know that Egypt had warned the Israelis three days prior that an event like this could happen. We know that this has been planned, perhaps as long as a year ago.” The exact details disclosed to the Israeli government are not clear, but Mr McCaul said a "warning was given”. Other reports claimed Egyptian intelligence repeatedly told Israel that the situation in Gaza could "explode” but did not offer intelligence about a specific attack. Israel has denied that it received a warning of Saturday’s attack, which killed at least 1,200 Israelis. More than 1,000 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza in response. Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously described reports that he received warnings as "absolutely false” and "totally fake news”.

I can desire both that Palestinians get a nation state and agency over their own destiny, and that innocent Palestinian civilians be treated with human dignity and not denied basic human rights, while also believing that Hamas (and many Palestinians that support them) is a terrorist organization whose stated goal is the elimination of Israel and the Jews that populate it. I can also believe that Netanyahu and his ilk have been far too aggressive in marginalizing Palestinians, and that forcefully removing them from their homes and creating settlements to occupy former Palestinian lands may very well be casus belli, while also condemning the Hamas led attack that resulted in 100s if not 1000s of innocent Jewish lives lost. Israel has its fair share of sins. And the actions it has taken to marginalize the Palestinian people have often gone too far, mainly because Hamas and the Palestinian people are not one in the same any more than Jewish settlers can be classified as enemy combatants and thus considered by Hamas legitimate targets for military operations. The whole thing is a mess. Hamas is a terrorist organization, and Israel is often a crazed gun-toting neighbor who's been pushed too far. It can certainly be argued that Israel is how it is because of how hostile Palestine has been to them, but nonetheless there's a lot of innocent Palestinian blood on its ledgers as well. The above is IMHO all true, and why it's been such an intractable problem. If Israel proceeded in good faith with a softer hand, Hamas is not going to change its stance on the extermination of Jews and elimination of Israel as a state. Excising Hamas and the terroristic sentiment from Palestine would require both a desire and a sufficiently powerful political movement within both the Arab world and Palestine itself, and that also isn't on the horizon. I got nothing. It sucks. I also strongly disapprove of Netanyahu pushing settlements further and displacing Palestinians. However, I firmly believe this still would have happened had the Israeli government not done so. Its just what Hamas, and all Islamo-fascists do.

Israel isn't exactly behaving well. But no matter how they behave Hamaspik & co. will conspire to murder Jews and erase Israel.

October 12, 20231 yr So Netanyahu is a piece of crap. Thusly, I don't put it past him to escalate and hope Hamas attacks. Up to and including turning a blind eye to intelligence that puts Jewish concert goers at risk and ends with the deaths of thousands of Palestinians and Jews but theoretically firms up his political future and "validates" his worldview. Inviting Hamas to attack and thus emboldening Israel to respond does not lessen in any way the sins of Hamas in taking the bait. But it does make Netanyahu look like the total and complete crap bag he is. Just saying.
