Not only can he audible, but if he's still unable to have any input on offense that would be another major red flag.

The Hurts defenders are deconstructing their own arguments

Agreed. He's the starter and was given a mega contract. He should be able to give his input on the offense that is supposed to be centered around him

These last 2 pages

I agree, but I think that needs to be done by the OC. Moore should've had a gameplan for getting rid of the ball quick to avoid Jalen taking sacks. Unless I'm unaware of something, I don't think Hurts has full say so in how the offense is run, right?  Same as the defense can't just override Fangio and blitz when they want.  But I agree, he has to cut out his mistakes and the offense needs to cater more to getting it out quickly and more Barkley runs, especially with Aj/Smith out.

No, I doubt he calls many of his plays.  However, there comes a point where they turn it over to him and he has to make the reads.  He missed alot of check downs in exchange for far riskier selections.

Define alot. With the way fans here are, Hurts would probably be criticized for checking it down too much and never throwing downfield, lol.  "he doesn't see the field and just checks it down, he sucks!"

Go back and read some of Hurts scouting reports and get back to us with what isn't still a weakness five years later.

What I'm looking at is virtually the same player.

I’ll just ask you simply this. What is Jalen Hurts doing great right now that’s worth defending?

Go back a rewatch the game.  The fans here can be silly with expectations.  If I have to choose throwing low percentage passes downfield to 2nd tier talents or dumping to Saquon and Dallas, I'm going to those guys and trusting my legs until they roll up.

Well, he is keeping the main thing the main thing so there’s that.

$250 million has a way of humbling people

There is literally 2 people defending Hurts on this board lol. What are they seeing that the other 100 or so people are not seeing? Are they on drugs? Lol

Let’s say you are right and Hurts sucks. What's your next move? Who plays qb?

That's always been the issue with you guys. Your plan b is patrick mahomes or josh allen.

At least hurts has a record of taking a team to the super bowl. And taking crappy teams to the playoffs.

But you want a change? Change to what? U have a concept of a plan. That's it.

I didnt say any of that. Hurts needs to fix his sheet period.

Plan B Mahomes or Allen?

Who's saying that?

There’s a very long list of players, media (local and national), and fans who are concerned with the play of Jalen Hurts, and the only comforting thing that I hear right now is Pat Mahomes is struggling so it’s okay that Jalen struggles. :nonono:
This is not the flex you think it is people. It’s flat out embarrassing.

I know i didnt, someone brought up Allen and i said he does the same stupid ass sheet Hurts does. Allen just gets away with it a bit more because of his arm.

I believe that just a few years ago, the general coverage in the NFL was very poor and a majority of defenders played the receiver, not the ball. QBs had a lot of success during that stretch of bad coverage and got away with a lot of bad throws because the defender wasn't looking back for the ball. Last year, it felt like DB coaches around the league had been getting their players to feel more comfortable locating the ball in coverage and INTs seemed higher (than in the past) for most big name QBs. It feels like that's continuing this year and, IMO, QBs just need to account for the better DB play and stop forcing questionable throws that maybe they got away with in the past.

What "crappy” team did Hurts lead to the playoffs?  The notion that Hurts has had an inferior roster around him is insane.  He played with two sure fire future HOFers on the offensive line (probably first ballot).  One HOF on Dline in Fletch and at least one Eagles ring of honor in BG. He is on season 3 with AJ AND Smitty at WR.  He has had top shelf TE’s.  An All Pro CB (past him prime now, but not when he was signed here).  Miles Sanders, Swift and now Barkley at RB.

Yes, we want and deserve a change.  The change we would prefer is for hurts to change.  Stop being a predictable 1-2 read QB.  Stop bailing to the right early (maybe learn to step up and get to his third and fourth reads consistently).  If he is going to commit to run, then run full speed.  Stop **** footing it out of bounds for little or no gain.  Stop turning the ball over.  Take what the defense gives you.  Play smarter, week in an and week out.  If he isn’t capable of that change, then it’s time to move on and look to the draft for an answer at QB.  Perhaps trade hurts for some draft capital while (hopefully) other teams still have the same view of Hurts that you and his dad have of him.

Great QB’s make those around them better.  They don’t require a roster stacked at every position to win.

I think he'll be in his 6th or 7th year in the league when there's a potential out for his contract. They should draft his replacement if he hasn't improved by then

I believe we have at least two more years where his dead cap is over 100.  He has two years or a rookie qb taking off to improve. He has all the weapons around him to allow him to improve. He doesn't have carsons situation when the ish hit the fan and he's got nothing to lean on so it just gets worse. He has all pro on one side,  pro bowl on the other, pro bowl level TE, pro bowl level RB, pro bowl level lineman....can't get much better. We don't need him to be mahomes, just be purdy....but he's not developing like purdy....

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

If Hurts was the QB in Dallas, every single person on this board would rip him for his play. No one would fear him. No one would make excuses for him.

That *should* tell you everything you need to know, but here we are.

Kirk put up 14 points in 18 minutes against the Bucs so far. QB1 put up 14 in 4 quarters
