To be fair, he’d be criminally underpaid if he were our week 1 LT. this Request isn’t out of bounds

He’s been a hall of fame caliber player for you guys and a key member of a championship squad. He’s in the last year or two of his career and wants to take full advantage of his earning potential. You have an issue with that?

No. He would only last a few games and get hurt. Give him a contract based on him finishing 14 regular season games.

Yes.

Over the past two seasons Carson missed more games than Peters. Should the Eagles take your ridiculous stance with him too? Frankly Peters has every right to make the request for more money. He came back for lower cash to play a different position. The Eagles used that to pay him less. Frankly they have no leverage here. I guess they could cut him, but what does that accomplish? Either way it seems Carson is gonna be running for his life all year with this line in front of him.

NOBODY wanted him and the Eagles allowed his career to continue. What does Peters do? Put himself ABOVE the team. Screw him.

Someone wants to defend her husband. He can retire for all I care.

Is he holding out?

That dude wasn't good enough to start at LT and get paid what he wanted or he wouldn't be at guard. Period. Honestly, I hope they cut his a** and go in another direction all together at guard and LT and save time before his a** gets hurt again because it is only a matter of time.

Yeah cause some castoff hack off the street will be so much better. You need to get out of your feelings and look at this rationally. You spend more money trying to do the nonsense you want done. As I mentioned before the could easily fix this and they could probably get it done with mostly incentives.

I agree here. If they've got to pay him then they've got to pay him. But it's really not good for Peters to do this to the team.

How many times have we heard this is a business? I’m sure Peters was none too happy he was unceremoniously dumped by the team. He came back at a lesser salary, because he was learning a new position. I read somewhere he was considered the 12 best tackle in the league last year. Salary wise if he starts week one he would rank as the 30th paid. To me this isn’t that difficult. Fix the problem, protect Wentz, and move on. I guarantee you very few people in that locker room would be against Peters wanting to be paid more money.

I mean ultimately yeah you've got to pay him as you've got to protect Wentz and keep him upright. But it's not a straight forward decision as this team needs to roll cap space and this team is absolutely not going to contend this year.

Hadn't his contract run out at the end of the 2019 season?

Yes, but you know he wanted to come back and they said thanks but no.

OK, the way it was worded it sounded like you were under the impression we cut him.  Not extending a new contract is less harsh than cutting.  But I get it.

He’s been basically working on deals like this for a few years now. They finally said to him goodbye (although I personally don’t think the HC or the owner were ready to see him go) and if Dillard worked out and Brooks doesn’t get hurt he’s probably not here.

Deek move by Peters IMO.

Why? The Eagles had all the leverage and chose to bring him back on a short money deal.  Now he has the leverage and wants to be paid appropriately if they move him back. These are business moves, not rah rah go team moves.

What would be appropriate for a 38 year old that needs to take himself out of the game for a few breaks and also gets dinged up easily now? There's also the false starts

Good question.

What would be appropriate for the guy who’s the best bet (at this point) to keep Wentz out of a body bag?

He's the best? That's a sad situation to be in

I think it’s wide open.  What do you have in mind?
